for me it is the AP Royal Oak Offshore Montauk Highway with hornback croc strap in tan ,with blue stitching ........... I mean, I love the ROO but the Monty just screamed fun holiday. Mine arrived this afternoon and I will take some killer shots of it and post them this week sometime. It has been a loooooooooong wait for me, since seeing the press release all those years ago, but it is such a great watch. My only concern was that this model would be too big for my 7.5 inch wrist. It is like they were made for each other! I mean it is big, but not crazy-huge like some.

of course, I bought the last "new" one but in time someone always offers one for sale..... If you did want to hold off for one, maybe in the meantime you could get one of the very acceptable quartz versions ...?

Anyway, as we all know, there are so many stunning AP's out there it's unlikely you'll be disappointed with any one them! (except maybe that awful AP chrono ladycat in pink)

I have a question, I know that the stainless steel bracelet from the TD's are hard and don't really go around your wrist. Do these rubber and gator bands bend well??? or they are stiff? Don't want it floating on my wrist

the ROO SS bands fit very well if your wrist is 7 in or more.
I'm wearing one as I type this.

The rubber band fits very well, & is of a surprisingly high quality. It has a buckle, & I've always thought buckles were more comfortable than deployants.

The leather bands, almost all of them , are absolute shiza. They need to be replaced w/ gen straps or a custom made one from one of the trusted strap makers. I have used Donerix happily, but I'm not sure if he's trusted here. There are some tuto's though on making the rep strap look better by roughing them up & repolishing, etc. The good part about buying the leather straps is that they come w/ conversion endlinks & a deployant which you will reuse on your new strap.

The more classic AP: The Black themes
The more mysterious and intersting; Chronopassion
The more reliable : AP Diver
The more eye catching and impressionant: Barrichello

Just my opinion

I'll follow this thread too, since I'm looking for an AP chrono.

If you can post pics of all models, we all appreciate.

Which are the differences between Chronopassion and Black Themes?

Cheers,

Max

This the one I am looking at purchasing, this is the rep pic and it is pretty accurate to the gen for the most part. I really enjoy this particular one! Let me know what you think of this one :)

Great choice dude! The Survivor is bada$$, & quite accurate to gen.
It's a good bit too large for my personal taste, but if I had bigger wrists I'd get that one & the T3.

The black themes is just a ROO that has an SS case/bracelet & a black dial. Very plain, but very classic.

The Chronopassion is pure hotness, & much more unique/eye catching IMO. Chronopassion has a sandblasted titanium case (scratches happen... & they don't go away), & has a rubber or hornback strap(no bracelet option here).

Here's a pic if the Chronopassion's dial

Why are the leather ones bad?? I wanted the silver themes with the hornback croc strap but if you say it's bad I might as well get a chronopassion. And for the SS, I had an ap ro and the bracelet was hard, like you can't bend it and the clasp can't touch the back of the watch when you try to bend it.

The rep leather is just not good quality, especially in comparison to such a beautiful watch. It's like if you bought a $100 cut of steak & served it on a paper plate w/ instant mashed potatoes & a Coke. Getting the rep strap is not necessarily a bad idea though. If you are willing to invest in a better strap in a few weeks, get the rep hornback so you can use the conversion endlinks & the deployant clasp. W/ APROO's I would just factor in an extra $80 - $250 for a decent aftermarket strap w/ every one I buy.

As for the bracelet, yes it is much more ridged than a Rolex or Omega bracelet, but I have personally found it very comfortable. But if you didn't the RO bracelet, you won't like the ROO bracelet.

The chronopassion is a great looking watch, I just fell in love with this survivor and I am used to wearing the BR 01-92 which is 46mm so it will be slightly smaller than that but will be such a great watch! I found a member here who is going to sell me his which has barely been used and it has been serviced:)
