Hi,

My daily beater, a Breitling navitimer that I purchased around three years ago and that has served me well had the crown break off yesterday. I was starting to wind it when I noticed there was no resistance the crown just revolved freely, I tried raising it as if to set the time and the crown just came away in my hand.

I saw no sign of any stem? I am posting some images and perhaps someone can advice me if this watch is repairable, and if it would be expensive or not. I have grown attached to this watch and would be sorry to see it laying in my watch box unused....I have a genuine Breitling strap on it, so wouldn't want to see that laying idle either.

Thanks for the reply Fordystar, I'm in Scotland. I took it along to a small jewelers shop today, the watch repair guy isn't in until Thursday, but apparently according to the staff there he has no problem working on a rep....So hopefully on Thurday this guy will be able to do something for me. No way would I consider taking the back off myself.....changing a strap is just about my limit. I'll be heartbroken if he can't mend this, it was my first 'nice' rep and has served me well day in day out for three or more years.
