Regardless of COD, I get very upset when people throw away what they've got (be it talent, health, money, etc.).
It's extremely selfish.

I pity those who suffer her loss.

My condolences BB.

I hope that's directed at Baldwin because Bobby Brown does not deserve your pity or condolences. He's the asshat (partly) responsible for this.

RIP girl, you will be missed.

Fakey: #1 for the 2012 celeb dead pool, unfortunately.

We all have pressures in this life however, I can't even begin to fathom the amount of pressure placed on celebrities in this day and age that drives them to this kind of an ending.

RIP Whitney...

Don't forget Anna Nicole Smith and Heath Ledger. Both recent as well.

Great to see some nice/ respectful comments on here :) - on a few other forums I have noticed some very harsh comments ..
Personaly I think this is yeat another tradgic loss of life and talent
And I honestly think that almost any death is to be mourned/ respected in some fashion. Dont get me wrong i dont mean we should all should wail endlessly about it? - unless of course they were particularly close to you.
I agree that media response to celebrity deaths can get absurd and understand where some of the frustrations I have seen ( elsewhere ) not on this board, but that shouldn't detract from the fact that an obviously troubled woman tragically died at a young age.
Some folk didn't listen to her music - thats fine, nobody is asking everyone to be a fan. A mere 5 seconds is enough in my view, to at least think of her famaily /close ones.
Many, many of society's celebrities have destructive personalities, too much money,
too much adulation and not enough common sense/ getting cought up whith the wrong poeple , carried away with the " celeb lifestyle " have too much pressure put on them..and more impotantly have no one willing to say NO to them.... Ever!!

I know a lot of folks are getting tired of this whole superstar/diva culture. it doesn't help that on the next evening news they are probably going to spend 5/10 minutes talking about her life etc. etc. because they find this more important than the situation in Syria, Egypt or Lybia. Which I can again understand how this may make folk feel

Like most i feel very sad and sorry when I hear about some poor fellow who died in Afghanistan at a far to young age where nobody seems to be paying any attention to.

But a life if a life , no matter how it ended , I think addiction and mental health issues can be greatly misunderstood ( this may just be due to the line of work I'm in) who knows , everyone is entitled to thier own opinions of course ,
Therefore i am sad to hear this news of yet another life cut short but this is just my Two cents.

Don't get me wrong I personally wasn't a huge fan but recognise she did had a great voice and a lot of talent in her day - one of the greats ! And yeh i do have some of her cd's ... Unfortunatly that talent has now sadly gone to waste , Its a shame to see this happen over and over again......

R.I.P Whitney ...

Jools - I agree with your words.

I'm not a fan of Whitney particularly, but I am sad to hear of her death.

I think that the saddest part of this is the fact that while we're all shocked and most of us saddened by her untimely passing, no one is actually surprised, and may seem to feel that it was actually predictable.

Easy for us all to pass judgment that "she made her choices", and deserved such an ending, but until we've had a chance to live her life and get presented with the same choices, we can have no right to say. Temptation is a powerful force, and you'd have to awfully virtuous to be able to say that you, personally, walked away from every one you've been presented with.

I can't. So I invite any of you to be the first one.

+2.

Beautiful woman, beautiful voice. Goes to show that fame and fortune aren't everything but at least the dark place she was in has gone. God Bless her.

@frigpig.....sorry my friend, emotions were running high at the time. My error, I'm the asshat, sorry.

That's true. Life is a gift and when it ends at any age and by whatever means, it's a humbling thing.

Again my condolences, but she does not deserve your prayers

Life is a choice..she made hers

Anyone who believes that prayers are only for the blameless needs to review the Bible--any version in any religion.
