why was you trying to up your post count, to list a watch for sale????? you need 0 posts to list a watch for sale here,and i think our sales section is far better than the one at geek, so what was the massive hurry to BUMP up your posts,rules are there for a reason, you broke them, you got banned, thats life!!! dont complain about it and get on with it.

On 2nd thought, maybe sendai you shouldn't have been banned, perhaps it was a bit harsh, but you should've had your post count reduced to zero for mass posting silly comments, no big deal, they ban for smaller offences over there, use sales forum on here as suggested above.

Thanks guys, I appreciate all the thoughts on this issue. Perhaps I do deserve the ban. In my opinion, it's a bit much, but if I overstepped the unwritten rules of the community, then I'll have to accept my punishment. I'm
not a bad person, so in my mind, that's all that matters. Thanks again for all your thoughts on the subject. To tell you the truth, I'm over it. And I agree that not only does RWI have a whole lot better sales system in place, but the overall community of Rep owners seems a whole lot tighter. Have a good one to you all!

Well, I'm glad that you are finally starting to see the error of your ways. We don't measure post count at RWI, but we do measure integrity, and yours appeared on its way to taking a real beating at the beginning of this thread.

You might see a minimum post count as being foolish, but if you were the one who was the victim of a scam from an unknown new member, you wouldn't feel this way. I sometimes still feel regret that we didn't keep our post count requirement. But as Cybee pointed out, post count does not necessarily reflect trustworthiness. Unfortunately, there are not so many other objective ways to do it. If someone has a foolproof idea, we're all open to suggestions.

Never fear my dear for Trailie has been keeping track and it has made exactly ZERO difference to our scam rate. In fact, in dollars per annum the rate has dropped slightly while being very much the same numerically. However you do have about 17% more sales to chose from after averaging for member numbers.

Yeah, but jumping on those folks making post sprees was so much fun.

Of course, we didn't ban them, but kicking them in the knee caps was not out of the question.

It's a bit extreme as a first step, but since RG never let me on their board in the first place, I don't have any attachments there, and I've never felt like I was missing all that much.

Anyway, as you say, you've learned a lesson, and can hopefully make a better start. I think too, that this is a good reminder for everyone that if you think that you can skirt the official rules and go by your own, there's always someone watching.

Very classy of you sftosendai! Others who received such criticism (& rightly so) might have gone off the deep end in being defensive and telling your critics to go sit and twirl on it. To me, the measure of integrity is 'fessing up to your error and making an effort to learn from it and to contribute to the forum. In my book, you've passed that test. Congrats to you.
