I went to remove the stem from the movement and I told myself a million times, "Do NOT unscrew this thing too far"...and I ended up doing just that.

Me-> :lolcina: <-Me

I don't know how it happened, but now there's a little thing that popped out and now the crown/stem just slides all the way in and winds the watch, but just comes straight out when you pull on it.

Possible to fix this by removing the hands/dial? Or should I send it out to be repaired?

I was planning on selling this watch, so I'm just wondering if I should fix it then put it up, or just sell it as is and take a little hit on it.

Thanks guys.

its simple if your careful not to damage the hands and dial.

first remove the movement from the case.
then remove the hands and dial.
do you know how to remove the dial?

then under the dial on the right side where the keyless works is is the screw issue.
the screw that loosens the stem
the red arrow.

that same screw locks into the keyless works lever here
the big red arrow.

you need to put that little piece back on against the lever and then thighten the screw from the other side.

you will probably have to hold the little part tight against the movemnt as you hold it up and tighten the screw. the lever puts a lot of force on the little part and can pop off if you are not holding it tight enough.

then put the stem back in and give it a try before you put it all back together to make sure it sets and moves the hands.

good luck

Nice pics there. That little screw is the set lever screw and there are plenty of tutorials on this one.

heres a picture of the dial and movement release screws.

sorry for the crude pic

the Blue arrows point to the screws that will release the movement from the case. be sure to get the tabs out as well, and dont lose them.

the red arrowns point to little dial screws that hold the dial feet, they need to be loosened a little but they wont come out of the movement

Hmm...I was thinking about ordering a set of hand pullers, too...now would be a good time. Thanks for the info!

Katt,

How much would something like this cost to fix?
