Sigh... Bruce, I really had hoped this wouldn't be the case, but you're destroying your credibility here. Not only are there
numerous inaccuracies in your description, but the followup pic is not of the same gun.
Let's review a few items:
next is my bastard child custom built by me and brownells(All innards are a mixture of ed brown and wilson combat and the slide stop, grip safety, hammer, and trigger are STI)
No, they're not. That's a three-hole Videki-style trigger, not the STI trigger. The hammer looks like a Springfield Loaded hammer, not even close to any STI version. Beavertail might be a Wilson; hard to say for sure on that one.
One could make the assumption that you've simply forgotten what parts you've used, but given the familiarity required to hand-fit the parts yourself, you'd likely know the differences as well as I.
BUT...
Then there's this...
my colt pre 70(a few new parts installed like trigger, slide stop, safety, beavertail safety, wolff recoil spring. All parts are ed brown)
Trigger - factory Colt short A1
Slide stop - can't tell, but I'm sure it's Colt.
Safety - Factory Colt A1 short safety
"Beavertail" safety - factory Colt grip safety, non-beavertail design
Ed Brown doesn't make anything that even remotely resembles the factory Colt military-spec parts on this totally stock (and beautiful) old Colt.
Now the farce goes even further...
Here you go Anopsis. My cam quit before I could get a shot of the nickel colt. Had to install a different hammer on the pre 70, the other wouldn't engage for some reason(This is my FAVORITE carry gun so it needs to be flawless when it comes to functioning and reliability)
No, you didn't install a 'different hammer'. The hammer on this gun is a Colt factory Commander hammer, as is appropriate for the Combat Commander pistol it's shown on.
This Commander is also a beautiful old Colt, except for the hideous 'drop in' beavertail grip safety someone added to it. The biggest tell between this one and the above example isn't the different hammer; it's the fact that the Commander barrel is 4.25" vs. the Government model's 5" long barrel. Somehow your gun shrunk 3/4 of an inch!
Unfortunately these issues completely negate the validity of the claims. Honestly, I'm a bit surprised you attempted it knowing that this is my trade.
In the future please do not do this. Thanks.
