I am looking at getting a rolex rep and I enjoy the yachtmaster 2 design and the 10Min countdown. This is the current one I am looking at

and then I am also looking at a GMT 2,

Is there anything I should be looking for in a rolex rep. Does anybody have either of these models. Thank you! I appreciate everyones help :)

Well I just put that picture up, I prefer the one below (on this post in silver) but I was referencing the YM 2 in general.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't believe the timer functions properly if at all on the YM2 reps.
And the GMT reps with high-beat movement have had a lot of problems with movements crapping out.
How about a nice versatile black Sub?

When you say the timer functions, do you mean the actual watch or the 10Min? Is it ok to get a fast movement in a sub or is it better to stick with a reg 21j?

Thanks for the link to puretime.

A). I mean the 10 minute count down timer.
B). A high beat Sub is preferable to a 21J movement.

Would this watch be a good start to a rolex collection or is their a specific version of sub that is better than another?

I think the OP was referring to the Noob'mariner 16610 mate, not that vintage sub but that is a great looking submariner as well.

narrika has THE noobmarinier for sale right now for 68 quid

Is there a link for that? I am not so familiar with the dealers, nor am I with the exact models. Thanks for your help!

Look at the thread called Trusted Replica Dealers...look for narrika....that will hook you up..

Feel free to ask any questions you like. I'd be happy to help sort it out.

As to the YMII rep I beleive that the version in the Puretime link above has solved the 10min countdown issue.
It also has a case with the correct markings for white gold, which some other "white gold" reps like the blue Submariner do not.

On the negative side the two second hands run in tandem on the pictures, so most probably the chrono function is faux.

Having said that, I like the countdown function. It would be a neat one for sailing.

yes that does seem like a cool feature to have on the watch. i just need to figure out which rolex i want, i believe its between the dssd and the ym2 i believe they are both a little more unique than the sub.

also what is the difference between these to dssd's

The upper one seems better..Dial markers and pearl triangle is great...Combined with a new case..Although i prefer "live" pictures...I don't believe these pics...

Yeah I prefer live photos too, but TS doesnt really do live shots like puretime or watcheden. what is the difference between 3135 movement and eta 2836-2?

The movements the dealers sell now is the same with different decoration lol....

They started fitting the ETA which is a good swiss movement from the Swatch group..But nowit is hard to findso most of them say they fit you an ETA but you receive an Asian 2836

The 3135 is a Rolex in house movement..
In the reps there is the asian 3135 which is a decorated Asian 2836 to look like Rolex movement..
There is also the SA 3135 which is a Chinese copy of Rolex movement...

So order the A2836,since whatever you order this is the one you will get...
