i suppose this has been asked before or there is some "obvious" answer but here goes...

if all the rep watches come from the same place/factory/whatever why is there such a delta on the prices of one dealer to another. sometimes it would appear there is hundreds of dollars difference for a rep that appears to be the the same product. what is the deal???

i do enjoy the hell out of this forum---thanks to everyone that puts so much time in to make this what it is!

Could be any numer of reasons, construction, movement, greed, poplularity of seller, older model, newer model, and more.

Hundreds of dollars?? Except for a few exceptions the difference is more around 10-15%. Some dealers have a better service than others, which can explain a certain price difference.

Its simple for me....
BLACKMARKET...suppy/demand...

One dealer may have a huge customer base, service with a smile all that shit =$$$
A particular model/version...limited supply=$$$$

There are a few dealers that signed their own death warrant, price gouger, new dealer crusher....

This is the black market gentlemen, there are no rules, no laws, no nothing.

We do have power however, we have power in numbers...we have the power to create a code of ethics WE can hold on to, but at the end of the day its the black market.

If you dont like a price, look elsewhere
If you dont like the service, look elsewhere
If you get ripped, get over it

My 2 cents

The difference in price I believe he refers to is just looking at all sites, the trusted dealers are around 10-20% difference between them, however if you go outside the TD space things get expensive. I saw a FM vegas 96 on a TD for 86 dollars and then on some other rep site for 339 with the same movements and what not. I just got onto this site and have been following what people tell me pretty closely and I have yet to get burned.

Often it has been hard to tell if I was comparing the same two watches.

Still, I've noticed some of the same large price variations between trusted dealers. Like one selling a noobmariner for $55 and the other for $100. Maybe I'm wrong, but they seem to be the pretty much the same watch.

I just ordered a noob factory sub ceramic with an A2836 from one of our TDs. I see other TDs selling it for 50% more.

Those specials you see are indeed, specials. Mostly that dealer will agree to purchase multiples of a model at a reduced price and have a special.

For the higher end reps you won't see a huge difference in price of the EXACT same model. Watches will look the same but will have different construction

Here is an example. AP ROO survivor

Quartz mineral crystal $100
Quartz saphire $175
21j $200
7750 $300
7750 seconds at 12 "best" version pushing 6 bills

Pretty much anyone short of a WIS could not tell the difference between these watches let alone identify the brand or model.

this watch cost $168

This one cost $678!!!!

Hi elephan
It is almost impossible to have differences bigger than 10-15% for the same watch.
Surely there is some difference in movement (the most likely), crystal, AR...
Please indicate some links to try the evaluation.

price differentation

i can't find the exact sites off the bat so here is my explanation: i have used puretime site to order up a dssd and was very pleased with everything so i virtually always will go to that site to view examples of watches that i am lusting over. they have great pictures. over the last few days i have tried to ferret out all various others to do some price comparison. specifically i have seen rollies down around $85 on some sites ("collections") on less glitzy web url's versus the $2xx at pure time. i have also noticed this same gap on BR's. i hope that explains enough to help explain my ??? the sites i was viewing came from THIS site and were not dealers i googled up etc. they WERE obviously smaller websites. thank you all for chippiing in on an answer!

Factors to consider the price differences:
Movement: 21J vs clone 2824/2836 (The $85 must be a 21J, while the $2xx should be a ETA clone)
Crystal: Mineral vs Sapphire
Bezel insert: Aluminium vs ceramic
Maker: noobfactory vs ??

why not u post up some links as examples? easier for us to see.

Here is an example of my first rep: Noob factory 21j Submariner

timeshops.net $55 (LV or black bezel):

http://timeshops.net/6419-rwi-promo...green-ss-noobfactory-asian-21j-automatic.html

Watcheden $88:

http://www.watcheden.net/rolex-subm...n-bezel-with-black-dial-s-s-i-126582-p-1.html

Narikaa 68 pounds aka $108:

http://forum.replica-watch.info/vb/showthread.php/noobmariners-ready-ship-94697

Supposedly Narikaa's Noobs come from Thailand but looking at the pics, his looks exactly like the one I got from Timeshops for $55. And I would freely admit that there could be differences that I cannot see so I'd be glad if someone schooled me if there are differences.

Puretime $128:

http://www.puretimewatch.com/product/submariner-116610-lv-green-a21j/

Anyway, a huge price difference among TDs. I just ordered a vintage daytona though Trevor. He quoted me $198. Watcheden wants $268 for the same watch. As illustrated, I often see price differences much greater than 10-15% between our TDs.

timeshops one is a promotional discount item. I've aim to get one but at the same time I wanted one at 28800bph... this noobfactory item is a steal.

watcheden's (which personally I always considered as being more expensive compared to other TDs) is with a mineral crystal instead of sapphire.

narikaa's price include shipping.

PT's one I agree is slightly more expensive, but Angus always have promotion giving discounts. (recently X'mas and CNY 5%) and if you use Western Union for payment, it give 10% off.

Comparing these 4, I would say TS got the best price, Narikaa is next, and PT & WE at the same price line ($40 for the difference of the crystal)

Considering all the factors, I would average out the price differences here to around $30, not that bad.
And as as any other items you buy elsewhere, shop around for the best price & services based on what u want

Hope that helps.

I paid $68 shipped for my Timeshops Noob. Narikaa would be $108.

I'm not sure what you mean by "and PT & WE at the same price line ($40 for the difference of the crystal)". If those two have a mineral crystal then they should be cheaper. My Timeshops Noob has a sapphire crystal.

My only point is that it pays to shop around. I personally see larger differences than 10-15% between our TDs.

PT one is sapphire.
My point is just that comparing discounted item to regular item isn't that relevant. An yes I agree it paya to shop around.

That item has been "discounted" and been an RWI special for months and months. At this point, I call it their regular price.
