Comparing the two, the case looks really similar if not the same - it is just the dial that they got completely wrong
I have seen this version before though, and im sure it has been available for some time now.

Maybe just toss in a gen dial? They are super cheap on the bay. Only a blue one up now but I see yellow and grey pretty frequently (gen dial ftw anyway).

EDIT:
Mine is listed as an ETA 2824-2, as opposed to an 2836-2 which sillx lists his as - any differences?? Might not be able to swap in a gen dial after all. The breitling B17 caliber (what the seawolf uses), is based directly off the ETA 2824-2

They are basically the same movements I think 2836 has a day option or something though

that dial on the bay is an OLD seawolf dial

I wore my seawolf to the gym today to impress the ladies, it works every time. Perfect sport watch with the rubber band.

I'm tempted to take the case back off mine to check out the movement. How does one seal the caseback after removing it?

I bought a grey dial from rwi (brand new) in November. I haven't worn it yet but I stare at it everyday. Want to pressure test and relume first.

I've never seen the newer dial, like the dial you have in your picture on eBay, they're always the older dials, and I don't believe they would fit this case, even if they did it'd be incorrect. Those are for the older style smaller wolf, like the titanium one.

I'm going to open mine today and take pics under the microscope. I'm dying to know what movement is inside mine.

Edited: I just took a peek inside and it's nickle plated not the yellowish ones in the dealer photos, says 25 jewels

Here it is 2836-2. Real ETA you think? Check the last pic

I confirmed that my movement screws are missing, that's why it moves around when I set the time. I need to source some of those.

I have 2 Seawolf reps and an old style Steelfish -- both have been authenticated by a watchsmith as Swiss. The true test for me though is in the winding -- compared to the A2838's I have, the Swiss movements feel like they are bathed in butter :)

Dustin, how smooth does your bananawolf wind, brother?

Wind how like hand wind? Or rotor spin? I never hand wind any of my watches (well except the kind that hand wind only)

Judging from my pics I would say it is gen ETA

I just tried hand winding it, it is pretty smooth. Little to no clicking

Hand winding a gen ETA shouldn't be a problem...And that is what I meant. I haven't heard of any of the older style Seawolf or Steelfish ETA's being asian...Especially the Seawolf. I know they are making some cheaper Steelfish now, though...

My Wolf hand-winds super smoothly...like turning a knob with some resistance to it, but no discernable "clicking" or "ticking" at the crown.

No doubt, Rob -- I've felt the movements on alot of gen watches and for some reason, both my Seawolf reps feel better :) My Swiss Steelfish isn't even close for feel...

Ain't it the truth, Frig? Even the gen Eta Rollies don't seem to wind anywhere nears as smooth..
