There are only 90 BK WM9 YMs worldwide. They are collectible reps. No other YM rep can sit comfortably next to the gen... but you already knew that.

What happened to the other 27 ;)

As a previous owner of a BK WM9 YM, one with corrected hour marker positions, updated crown, crystal, and with a gen date disc too, do I regret selling it? No, I got $800 for it I think, plus I gave the watch/bracelet a complete polish and re-finish for the next owner, it looked practically new......

So $1200 for a stock WM9 YM and clearly a well used daily beater at that, is not really so nice for any of the potential buyers! :p

Plus I have a SA3135 Yachtmaster now, which I like just as much as my old WM9, in fact I prefer the bezel, dial finish (no superlume, but no biggie) and movement uniqueness of the SA3135, the case set is excellent too. Mine runs like a champ, keeps very accurate time and has zero issues, sweet! ;)

Have seen YM for sale for 700$....It was stock..So 1200$ after some mothns???The "not so nice" expression Mickey used is too kind for my raste...
One of the rules in the sales area is that we shoudn't make profit in someones back..It was 725$ from BK with no gen parts...It gained 500$ in a year???

you are all free to conduct a search to see what recently sold wm9 ym have gone for. if you don't like the price, don't buy it. besides, it isn't even set in stone. why do you waste your time criticizing prices in a free market economy?

How is it a waste of time? This is a discussion forum for this exact purpose, we are free to discuss and share our views. If you don't like what people are writing about price gouging and profiting on certain watches, then don't read it? :p

Guys don't het nervous..Sub4me has written above excactly what we should do..You like the price you buy..You think you are close??You make your offer...It is a low one according to the seller??Good luck waiting for something you think is reasonable...
But we should all comment..I have seen a TW sub, with no gen parts or exceptional on sale for 900$....Of course it dropped to 650-700 to sale..I also have seen 800$ wm9 subs have a hard time...

Hope the logic wins the noob!!

giobo, there are people that pay full sticker for a car as well, they never heard of making an offer I guess.

I'm just gonna add this... with luck, I'll soon be the owner of the first of the new batch of Subs that TC built. Price? A bargain $495. BK also posted today about the 1:1 (just as good as WM9) TW YM he put together. No sum of parts listed, but I'll bet you it's considerably less than $1,200.

I did not crap in the sales threads of these pieces, I started this topic because I think it's worth discussing. For me the parallel drawn to what happened w/Pams is apt. After the H/N factory super reps started rolling out, owners of the old EL / LH models had to face facts... the watches they bought, which up till that point had been rare collectors pieces and commanded top dollar, had topped out.

I predict we've seen the absolute height of the WM9 market, and would be surprised if any unmodded example sells for over $1,000 again. In a year they'll be $500, competing with TCs and TWs.

tony, keep in mind that while the case and insert of the new ym does look great, the dial is still quite lacking...

I concur... WM9s have reached their max. They will never sell higher than this and all I see is them heading down hill. The mythology behind WM9s may linger but in the end I see them fading away. TC cases are a new beginning... And the bk builds for less than $500 is a STEAL and they are brand spanking new.

Just look at the top of the line pre-v $1k+ builds barely selling for $500 now. To be completely honest I've handled my fair share of them and they are worth every penny if you compared them to gen watches in the same price range. Nowadays those pre-v builds are a definite steal and under-valued just because of the quality of the parts used to build them. Custom pre-v builds are still miles ahead in quality but the factory and dsn have made leaps and bounds making it quiet budget friendly for most rep collectors to get into the pre-v party making the market shrink for such high end pieces.

I think its overpriced for sure, then again I wouldn't pay that for any rep but someone else may find it a bargin since they would never pay the gen price.

I agree bro, which is why I think this was posted in spite and jealousy. Some people get mad when they can't get what they want for nothing.

I'm sorry dude. Didn't mean to crap on you personally.

But yeah, I think I remember a similar thread last time you had one up for sale. Jealousy for sure.
