Can the Cartier Santos-100 allow a strap change?

Yes, it's just that the strap is curved into the lugs, behind the end of the strap you'll see the spring bars, you should be able to change it without issues. I don't remember the strap length the Santos 100 uses but my Santos 100 Chrono uses 24mm.

But the leather is so tightly close to the lug i cant seems to find space for the spring bar tool, dig into it? And yes its 24mm.

Now that I see mine again I forgot they're screws not springbars, lol my bad. Look at the side of the case the screw head should be there. be very careful to choose the appropriate screwdriver, with reps some screws tend to be too soft so you could mar them easily.

They had to add the strap one way or another, yours definitely has spring-bars if no screws are present. Do you have a link or pictures of the watch?

Hmm interesting. Try this:

With a small needle push the pin and pull the strap while doing it. It looks like the lug-holes on vintage Rolex watches.

Nope doesnt work, the pin is solid hard in that position.

I'm out of ideas, lol. Try emailing them.

lol, im also quite interested on how they got the strap on. Unless they screw it in with a longer screw, and later break the extra length of the of the head.
The whole thing doesnt look like a spring bar to me.

I't cut off the strap (you don't want it anyway), then cut the screw in the middle and screw out each side. Put the new strap on with spring bars - you may have to tap the lug holes depending on the threading.
Good luck!

Idea. But I wonder if a normal 24mm strap will look nice on it? The original strap seems special.(hard at 2 end and all)

Take it to a watchsmith and have him replace the strap. Shouldn't be that expensive.

On many rep Santos models ..>>

The strap is held in with very tight push pins that rely solely on friction to keep them in place...On mine, they are screw pins, ala Panerai, but some just look like screws, and need to be forced out by a firmly pushed device like a bracelet pin remover or such...
Oddly, on mine, (a very inexpensive 21j XXL), the screw pins are threaded on opposite sides of the case...I guess the Chinese rep builders are jokesters...???

Haha, all the inexpensive reps contain some kind of jokes here and there, my Cartier is an inexpensive one, so the joke is at the pins!?

Anyway im gonna try my pin remover, if it doesnt work, i will try tapping with a hammer. The problem lies more at the clasp actually, doesnt click easily, and doesnt close properly...

I think now the cheaper ones have tight pins, which i would recommend to take to a jewelry or mall jeweler,
They have to me hit out very hard, and you don't want to dent the case. I have seen this before more than once.

They are not spring bars, they are pins like in a watch band, but thicker..

I literally had to take a pair of pliers and with brute force strength remove the strap from the lugs. It was not pretty but I eventually got it off. I will try and get a photo of it as I have yet to put a new strap on because the lugs hole are too large.
