I'm a complete noob with Rolex - so this is a shot in the dark. Ordered this noobfactory Milgauss from Trevor. Looks like the orange tick marks are quite dirty - definitely looks different from the sample pics on his thread.

Other thoughts?

I declined - too dirty for my eye...just looks funny and nothing like the pics he has posted on his thread. Waiting for a replacement. Might go with the Black/Green combo in your signature...

Thanks for the comment though. Too bad it seems to be a consistent problem from what you're saying.

Got any pics? Would be useful to see another example for comparison.

That's standard for that model unfortunately. It varies though, maybe you'll luck out and get one which is less dirty...

The orange lume has been lumpy and stupid looking on every single one I've ever seen.

Given how good the rest of it is, and that it doesn't cost same as gen, maybe send it off for a re-lume and service?

Otherwise, you just won't get that dial.

I decided to go with the black/green version because the orange markers aren't as prominent and even if a little dirty looking, aren't as noticable since we're only talking about the 3, 6, 9 markers. Trevor sent the lume shots which look really good too.

I will post pics when it arrives. Thanks guys.

Just a follow up - got the Green/orange Milgauss from Trevor - the rep is beautiful and the tick markers are more bearable, although as previously stated, they don't look "quite right."

I'm very pleased with the quality of the rep, but I must say that the greenish hue of the AR coating is very noticeable in certain light. I think this was mentioned in some other threads, but just as a reminder for other potential buyers.

Can't recommend Trevor enough - very good communication. He was able to source this for me immediately after I asked for it and declined the white version. I've just been a bit behind with my follow up report.

Thanks for all the comments fellas. Happy New Year.

The black dial with clear crystal (non gv) would be your best bet...I used to own 2 rep GVs from different dealers and they're nowhere near the gen. the clear crystal non gv looks closer to the gen

Wear the watch well. Unless you're sticking the watch in everyone's face, most won't realize the color difference of the tropic.

I really liked the original dial. I would have sent the original orange dial out for a relume.
