I would like a nice quartz rep that is as thin as it gets for a dress watch with a date. I want quartz bc an automatic in my price range starts at 9mm, and I need something sub-7. I am looking rep bc, without fail, you can find something better for the money over gens

Thanks

I know skagen and mondaine. The best gen I have found so far is the tissot T-Desire. I was hoping to find a 6-7mm rep of like the jlc ultra thin with a swiss quartz, or something along that vein. Nothing exists like that?

If it isn't an investment and you just want an attractive watch that is super thin, I would shave some more off of the cost and go with Skagen's sub-brand Grenen. Basically, they took over what Skagen was a few years ago while Skagen is trying to make a move upscale (I remember when you could get a mesh band Skagen for less than $60 usd in the store and not on clearance). Grenen can be picked up online for less than $40 and is all but identical to a Skagen. How thin these are is amazing.

If it helps:

It's for my father, I don't want to just get him an ultra thin watch. I want to get him a nice watch, but he'll only wear it if it's thinner than his current watch, which is 7mm

I own a Hamlin. It is remarkably thin and looks pretty good. They have gotten in some serious trouble with copyright problems with Skagen. In all honesty, Skagen makes one hell of a watch, the price is good and the name, while not on par with what we see here, is leaps and bounds above Hamlin and Grenen IMHO.

I had a Skagen years ago. It so light and thin, I would forget I had it on.

If I was into thin watches, it would be a skagen. They are pretty cool, especially the carbon fiber dialed ones.

My dad has a skagen, I think theyre gimmicky. I was hoping to find a thin rep for him. Something that looks classy, and maybe even has an auto movement like a 2892. I think the Tissot is still my best option. Unfortunately, my budget is capped at around 400, or the omega would be a good choice. If I could drop 1k, tho, I could drop 4, and would go for a jlc ultra thin

Also do a search on Botta watches. They are a german design, thin and very minimalistic.

+4 on the Skagen. I wear the Titanium chrono and love it. It's the only watch I ever forget I'm wearing - ultra-thin and ultra-light. Watch face is carbon fiber (I'm sure it's fake), nice touch.
