Has anyone had any contact with Mark from Timeshops recently?

Im wanting order two watches from him, but would just like to know whether you can see QC pics of watches before sent.

Ive emailed him last week and PM'd him also with no communication.

Anyone share any recent experiences?

Cheers

I just heard from them today - told me they couldn't get a watch I ordered from their "new arrivals" area. I have been trawling through their site for the past hour trying to decide if I want anything else ....

Never order or pay for anything if the dealer won't even answer a email or pm, thats just common sense, do not beg a dealer to sell to you, move on and find another dealer. No response from those dealers who ignore buyers is total BS and never do business with those dealers.

I just received my latest order of two GMT's (vintage and GMT-IIC ). Same as always 14-15 days from purchase to delivery. I consider them a trusted dealer here. I seem to recall them listing a gmail address for contact, is that how you emailed?

I have used TS a few times, mainly for the low prices.

However my latest experience with them was so bad that I will find it hard to recommend using that dealer.

Instructions on how to deal with TS are exceptionally poor:

I bought 5 watches on a wholesale deal. The instruction and communication on how to do so was so bad that I ended up posting a "how to" post on the Timesshop forum. Mainly to help Mark who seems to be unable to do so himself.

Promises repeatedly broken
I was promised QC pictures. They never came.
I was promised replacement watches when the first ones seemed to have gone to the wrong country. They were never sent.

3 out of 5 watches had issues.
1 they initially did not want to fix, replace or refund. 1 they had back, did not fix, had back again and finally did fix. The third one was fixed.

Total time 5 months
I bought in May and finally received the last functioning watch in October.

Strange communication
Have had about 100 mails back and forth, many so strange that they were funny.
One exchange was about non-functioning quartz where it was suggested that the battery had run out. So I asked if it was not new when it was shipped and the reply was "Ofcourse, but it depends how you use the watch" Right! Guess next time I shall only look at it with one eye... (btw it was not a battery issue)

Compensation
When a watch is sent back first time I can to some extent accept to pay to do so. When it is not fixed and again has to be sent back I cannot. Nor can I accept to be told a tracking number which apparently is going to Sweden when I live in the UK. Or that they have sent something on the 12th when in fact it was sent on the 16th.
Or that they take 5 months and 100 mails to sort things out.
I expect some form of goodwill from a company that makes so many mistakes.
Not so with TS. There is not even answers to very specific questions sent to him.

Mods finally got involved
And as always they were great. Supportive and constructive. And at least I have my watches now. Many thanks to the Mod who handled the matter!!!!

Recommend Timesshop to anyone??
Absolutely not anymore. Have done so on many occations before, but unless I get some very convincing information that the company has improved substantially they are in my opinion not suited to be Trusted Dealers.

Stay clear unless the watch is so cheap that it does not matter if there are any problems.

does not sit well with me ... I have no capacity to repair my own watches and I didn't receive 'great' QC pics ... they really only confirmed that three of the watches I ordered were in-hand and were in fact, what I had ordered.

My first three have been released from Aussie customs now so I should get them this week .... hopefully all will be well and I will wait to see how it all goes, however the actual reason I ordered more was because of the "wholesale" deal offer when 5 or more watches were bought. The actual watch I wanted initially is not in the del. of the first three and I am yet to receive word that they have it - so, it's a 5 watch order - 3 on the way 1 unavailable and 1 no info. ... and of course, I am out $700+ and apparently can expect at least some grief if there are issues.

No idea if paying slightly more (or a lot) would have saved me any of this with other dealers though.

Just Reveived Sea Dweller ETA

from Mark at Timeshops. Requested QC Photos and received them. I have been doing business with Timeshops for over 3 years probably bought over 20 watches from him... I had a couple of issues along the way but he always made good. I will always recommend. Best......... Frank

i like to deal in a different way , for example , i email hont , and ask him:
do u have this watch with this movement and this strap ? ( i send pic)
he replys:
yes i have , no i dont have.
after that i make my move :)
he is honest, professional and if there is any problem , he helps with no problem

The only reason why I ordered the watch without a reply is the fact it was very cheap, Ive only been able to find this watch on a few other sites and at 4 times the price! and I dont even like it that much to pay 4 times as much, at the price ive paid its a gamble im willing to take.

Ive been on here now long enough to know who get compliments with service etc. and who doesnt.

I agree with some people on this debate of 'trusted dealers'. I dont want to start mentioning who I think is and who I think certainly isnt. But people will jump straight away to say always used a TD, well imo there are people that I know who arnt, but who offer an excellent service!! Its up to the individual ordering whether they want to take the risk or not, it can be a risky business!

I know if I want to spend $500+ on a watch, I know exactly where im going and where im not, but thats up to me.

I know RWI can assist with moderators etc. if there's an issue, but they shouldnt have too, if the seller is professional and on the ball.

Anyway, I emailed & sent PM...............nothing, but like I say a risk I was willing to take for what I spent, if things go wrong then thats where RWI can hopefully help and back to why we use a 'trusted dealer', had they have not been trusted, would I have still ordered??????? Not a bloody chance!!! lol

Thanks for input guys.

you can try emailing [email protected]
I have had email contact with Jamie yesterday and today.

I actually orderd my first rep there too, just yesterday. Wanted to start cheap like you. Ofcourse made the mistake not to ask for picture or that it is in stock. But he helped me with some questions about my adress and delivery etc. Last email he told me "he would keep me updated", seems okay to me.

Ive since had contact and QC pics so im happy with that response, just wait to see what its like in flesh, hard to tell from poor pics really.

I only purchased this because of the cost, im not in love with the watch, its just too cheap!

My 1st Rolex GMT was £240 approaching 3 years ago and my PAM with Gunny Strap £390, so I didnt start cheap, quite the opposite, just this one from Timeshops is!

Cheers

i bought a noob sub, and i talked to Lois...and she gave me 4 pictures for QC but it was a ceramic sub and I asked her to change it to regular/16610... the QC pics were rather nice, not good as other dealers but decent. I hope she gives me QC pics for the second watch.

only thing though it didn't have my order numbero n it, so it could be anyones lol
