I've been lusting after the new 41mm DJII and DDII models from Rolex for a while, and after I tried a gen white dial DJII on at an AD, I suffered the unfortunate realisation that they were a perfect size and therefore eligible for my list...

Anyway, fast forward about 6 months and I finally cracked - I needed one of these new Noob PAMs so I figured I might as well save some shipping and order either a DJII or DDII at the same time...

So, after doing some research, I settled on Marvellous Replica as my dealer for this transaction. It was my first order with them but it won't be my last - they were patient, answered all my questions, and reassured me on a couple of my worries that, in hindsight, were noob-ish  I highly recommend them!

Order was placed QC and pictures received very quickly. I'll reproduce them here as they are great quality and also show a couple of details that I didn't get round to photographing last night before bed!

I've not worn it out the house yet but so far it is on my wrist pretty regularly of an evening :D It's just the right size, it's not too 'bling' due to the dark dial, the black dial with silver hands makes it eminently readable at a glance, and it is a weighty watch - if you were not a WIS and had never held a gen, the weight would certainly dispel doubts you might have about authenticity, although it is not as heavy as the gen, obviously. It does not feel in any way cheap or bodged together, and I presume it's much the same case as the DJII that recently passed 11atm waterproofness test on here! :)

The sweep is smooth and quiet, the date, day and time change feel good quality, the rehaut engraving lines up pretty damn well and is not too large, and it is super-comfy on the wrist.

Any negatives? Well...
- the crown is 'wrong' to gen (should have one dot not two because one dot is platinum, which this would be in the gen, as I understand it, but I don't think there are any rep crowns with just one dot)
- the clasp is a bit stiff (but will soon loosen up with use, I'm sure)
- the dial is not as matte as the gen (but hard to tell from a distance)
- the datewheel font is probably a bit big (but should be fixable with a BK datewheel overlay)
- the laser-etched crown is not precisely at 6, just a touch off to one side
- and the cyclops needs AR to be accurate to gen.

These are seriously minor issues, though, and I really don't care about them! The only possible thing I might change is to order a cyclops with AR from FineDD on RWI, but I don't trust myself not to mess it up changing it so I probably won't bother  lol

Overall I am very happy with this. I don't understand why I've not seen more on the forums - the dark blue on light blue is seen pretty regularly but never this version! I highly encourage anyone thinking about one to get one, you won't be disappointed :)

So, on to the pics! Not the best quality but it was late and I didn't have time to do anything flash :p lol

Comments welcome!!

It looks great! Thanks for showing and reviewing here.

A question about fucntionality: Can you actually tell the time when it is not in bright light?

And a comment about crown and material: The case and clasp also indicate that the watch is gold rather than platinum. At least it is consistent and to pretty much everyone other than the wierdoes here (including myself) that makes it fully plausible and acceptable.

TBH I've not really worn it out and about so can't give an experience-based opinion, but it is good in that you just need a small, single light source that you can reflect off the hands and you can then see them glinting against the dark background :)

The hands look dark in some of the pics above because the camera is in the way of where the light would normally be shining onto the hands, if that makes sense! lol

There's no lume at all on it, but then that just means you have no worries re: re-luming ;)

You're right about a lot of folks having the Glacier Blue model, myself included.....

And I can tell you this, the Black face makes the glare on the cyclops even more pronounced. On this one I think I'd have to get the AR.

You're also right that these are EXCELLENT reps. My DDII and DJII blow away all the Subs in terms of overall accuracy and quality appearance.

You may have another opinion but the Sub makers need to catch up with whoever is making these DD's & DJ's............
