Dear all,

I´m in Bangkok end of Nov and as the father of my girlfriend likes to look for watches in the MBK in Bangkok, while the girls goes for fashion ;-), I would like to ask if anybody knows a good dealer in the MBK who sells same quality like our TD´s here?

This has nothing to do with my other thread where I´m looking for my perfect fiddy! I definately will place my order in the next days by one of the 3 dealers I found. But I´m still waiting for some meaningful pics and conditions from Robert and Sead.

This here is only to have some fun in the MBK and have a look at some really nice reps in good quality, and of course maybe buy one or two :)

Thanks in advance

Martin

IIRC you take the middle set of escalators up to the 1st floor, step off and turn 180 degrees. The store will be in front of you about three shops along on the right.

Great!!!

Nah Piek is in the MBK? And IIRC is the name of the shop? Have you guys ever buy a watch there in the same quality we know from our TD´s here? Some tips about purchasing with these two are very welcome :)

Thanks a million

It is in MBK and the name of the shop is Nah Piek. "IIRC" is 'net speak for "If I Recall Correctly".

According to the gossip I've heard the guy is a huge pain in the ass. Also, he doesn't keep the best reps readily available.

Also his brother, who was the apparent brains of the outfit just died, according to Narikaa. So it may be a little more difficult to get anything decent out of him.

I read someting similar when you google him. Maybe not worth during a holiday. But it seems he is the only one in the MBK...

Only a few of the MBK/MBW reps are really at the top of their tree now days anyway.
Every good collection needs one just to have one but a lot of 'em are nothing special any more.

After I see the quality here absolutely agree. Compare to what I see last year in the MBK and the night markets....like black and white. Maybe we find the needle this year in the MBK.....:)

Hey guys,

I was just in Bangkok about a month ago. I looked up this dealer (Nah Piek) and as noted above, he's not very helpful. He has very limited stock and doesn't seem to want to talk about any watched he doesn't have on hand.

I did, however, find a guy on the 3rd floor in a booth called "My Watch" right near an escalator. He was very helpful and does have watches with ETA Clone or 7750 Clone available if you ask. He is obviously affiliated with other booths as he often has to leave the booth the get a watch you ask for. He also has to call his boss to get approval for lower pricing when you are negotiating. That said, I bought a few watched from him. A channel factory AP Offshore Diver V3; A Breitling Avenger with A-7750, as well as a couple very decent 21j watches - Green ceramic sub & Prohunter DSSD. I had to work at him a while to get him slightly lower than than what you can pay here from one of our TDs but it was worth it. Especially the benefit of being able to hold the watch and QC it yourself in person. One of my buddies bought a Tag day/date carrera A7750 and the other bought a GMTllc with an ETA clone. Both got great deals and nice watches.

We walked around that place most of the day and talked to a lot of dealers and most of them had the same stuff. This guy seemed to be the exception.

Hi CI

sounds very promising! I´m very interested in all AP´s. Can you tell me what payed for it (if you like PM)? Do you have to ask for the best models he have or did he show you from the beginning the best quality he has to offer?

Thanks for your feedback

Martin

Yes only in BKK for 3 days at the beginnig and 2 at the end. In the middle we are in the south. Is it a dealer? And how long does it takes with the taxi?

Thanks

Are you only staying in BKK? I know a good place outside of BKK.

Is that the guy in Soi Bukhao you told me about? Haven't got around to it yet but will definitely pay him a visit. Do you have any pics of the watches you bought from him?

@ haysy, I worked a package on several watches so a little tough to say how much each one was. If I assume the 21j watches @$100usd/ea, then I averaged about 225 for the Breit and AP ea. Considering most TDs sell the sell the Briet for around 258 and the AP for 278, I'd say it was a fair deal. Plus, no shipping.

You kind of have to ask for the best stuff. It's not out on display. He has books like the other dealers, full of 21J stuff. You can point out similar items but say you are looking for the best movement. Once he realizes you know what your talking about he will start breaking out the good stuff. Ironically, I was not looking for the diver, but when he showed it too me and I tried it on, I had to have it.

Keep in mind you really need to work him and negotiate price. He starts much higher. Also, cash plays. He wants a few points for credit card processing.

If you like AP, he had a few of the modified 7750 with sec@12. He knows what they are and is well above 500usd to start. I was looking at a black themes chrono when he showed me the diver.

Hope this helps.

If you are in Pattaya, there is a good shop there. Jack's in Soi Buckhao. He is a proper watchmaker as well.

I have bought quite a few from him, and I like to know that if there is a problem he can fix it.

I think quality control is an issue in the factories, so problems are not that unusual. If you have a watchmaker who can fix any issues then all well and good.

He has plenty of mid range fakes in stock, and a few of the top quality ones. If he doesn't have what you want, he will order it and it arrives the next day.

CW & CI

thanks a lot that helps. He started with your diver at 500 and you ended up with 225? Thats a deal I would say!!! How about his English? Last year when I was there I bought a PAM on the 3rd floor and the negotiation was very complicated. I paid 50€ but the quality was not the same like we are talking about.

Thanks a lot
