I purchased a Sub Marina 44mm from Getat about 2yrs ago and now i cant set the date and time.

First question: What type of movement is this? (Automatic Asain Movement)

And is this crown bad?

When I shake the watch is see the second hand moving so I dont think the movement is bad. I'm hoping its the crown tube and someone has one that they can sell to me.

Thanks.

Looks like a dg2813 or dg4813. Why is the stem removed? Will it go back in and stay in? If it goes back in, and stays in, but it will only allow you to change the date, or time, but won't go into winding mode, or vice versa, then to me it looks like the keyless works are messed up. You can fix this by yourself if you have the right tools, but otherwise you will need to take it to a watchsmith to fix it. It took me about 1 hour to fix it, but I bet I could do it much faster now that I've done it before. So a watch smith should take about 20 min to do this if they are any good.

Thanks, Tracyl.

I went to set the date and time and it didnt work. I removed the stem to see what was wrong but looking at it I cant tell if its broke. I have nothing to compare it to.

I contacted Getat for a replacement part but he hasnt responded yet.
Anyone have one that will fit this movement?

Looks like a DG2813 to me, but need to see more of the movement the rotor covers in the two pics above.
Crown stem looks fine to me (I'm no expert) so I'm guessing it's the keyless works.

And not to sound rude, but if you can't open it up, determine what the movement is and tell if the crown stem is good, then chances are you are NOT the right person to attempt to fix a keyless works issue. Lord knows I wouldn't tackle it! It's like 27th on the list of things you should try yourself - replacing the movement entirely is #22 if that gives you some idea.

I'd send it to Katt - should be cheaper than a new movement.

I'm not sure what your comfort level is, but if you have the tools, and your movements is messed up, you have nothing to lose by trying to fix it. If you mess it up worse, then you buy another movement $26 delivered from Ofrei.com

That is what I'd do, but then again, I've done it before, and I have all the tools. This is what would need to be done:
1. Remove case back(already done)
2. Remove stem(already done)
3. Remove movement from case
4. Remove hands(need hand pullers and dial protector of some sort)
5. Remove dial.
6. If 3 screws are covered by date wheel, then you will need to remove the date wheel overlay. If not, then just remove the 3 screws and remove cover and date wheel.
7. Fiddle with keyless works by looking at the tutorial here: http://www.replica-watches-guide.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=7310
8. Put all back in reverse order.
9. Enjoy your work!

@LM. I get your point and believe me I have no idea what i would do. The last time I went to remove a Crown Tube from my PAM 005 I turned the set lever screw too many times and had to send it to Katt to fix to fix it.. LOL
@TracyL you have good point. "You only learn when you try".

Already contacted Katt before posting this. He's a great guy. He's thinks its the crown and has a replacement similar to the one in the picture. Not 100% sure if it will work or not because it not the exact one.

I just need help from the forum to know if its the movement or the Crown/tube that needs to be fixed.

does this crown look broke? If the crown looks good then I can order a movement.

Thanks guys.

I sure can't see where the crown stem looks like any piece of it broke off. I don't have one to compare to, but if a piece or section broke off the stem, it did so in a way which left it smooth and symmetrical.
I don't think it's a crown stem issue.
But again, I pay others to work on my watches.

Once I know what type of movement this is I can start working on the type of Crown Stem needed and get it on over to Katt.

Kirk, your missing the last 1/3 of the stem! The 3 sided triangle part. I have the same movement (brand spanky) with center seconds output with the same stem. It's yours if you want it just cover the shipping. PM me if you do.

Here's the Exact movement you have from Jackson. $32 shipped

http://www.jacksontse.com/mm076.html

Also crown tube is misleading. The tube is the part pressed into the case that accepts the stem. The crown is attached to the stem. O.k.....I think I've got it straight now. ;)

+1. Agree with LMR: Send it to Katt! He's good, fast, and reasonable.
