Hi guys,

Am currently being offered this Clasp which I thought would look sweet on my gen jubilee..

I am not too sure however how to identify if it is gen or rep..

Appreciate all advice given..

Thanks in advance!

Also the seller showed me a slight chip/crack on the hinge..is this negligible or can it be fixed?

why would you buy a gen clasp? Its hidden anyway when the watch is on your wrist.

Genuine or not, I'd walk away after seeing the damage to the hinge. I can seriously see the watch hitting the floor at some point if you used that.

Genuine 100% but it looks very flimsy

Looks gen. I think a good watch smith could tack weld the crack, but it would always look mangled.

If you have a gen Jubilee, what happened to the gen clasp?

The H9 stamp means it should have been produced in September 1983. Is that the age it is advertised at?

Thanks guys for the replies!! :)

@ saw: just so I can franken my watch with gen parts :D

@ ply: I felt the same way..turned down the offer

@ level: The gen jubilee came with a tudor clasp, which i transplanted to my Snowflake..Am now sourcing a rolex clasp so I can use the jubilee for my GMT master II..

@ Sam: That is correct..I have been told that it was manufactured somewhere ard Sept '83..no advertisement..i got the offer from my local watchsmith..
