While I can understand from the Trader's point of view that a forum such as RWI could be an advantage but also a PITA with scrutiny from the mods to perform well as a business, I am not sure of the value to the customer of a trader's forum.

If the forum isn't independant of the trader how is it to be usefull to the buyer?

Am I missing something here?

Nope, not really. Other dealers have tried it in the past (most recently WE), but I very much doubt any of them have seen any benefit...

If anyone from 10+ years back is till around, they will remember that the birth of the "legit" forums was from the forums set up by illegit vendors.
These forums were effusive in their positives for some dealers, and denigrated others
(probably the good ones)

The real issue was that serious questions were never posted, and only positive responses to "their" dealers, - or more likely spam responses were shown.
I believe that it was the backlash from these "rogue" forums that spawned all the current legit forums.
No place for professional shills in this biz!

Exactly, to join a dealers forum and rely on that information is just silly.

everyone can get the watches lay sells from another TD. customer service is what really matters. lay should learn a thing or two about basic business practices from what I am reading.

Do you have any idea how must fun some had on WEF?
It was hilarious...
There were some well know member (from the regular forum) over there (with 100 of posts) that didn't even know WEF existed.
Admins went nuts...
