I do agree......some jackHole at customs knew what it was and took it. He knows there isnt anything anyone can do about it.

Hmm...

I have a locked, "community mail box."

The USPS carrier brings the EMS parcel to my door for a signature rather than leave it in the locked box.

If I am not home to sign for it, I drive to the main Post Office and pick it up there-- after they get my signature.

Hmm...

The weird thing for me is someone new spending $1200 + $310 = $1510 on rep watches.

Yep, and proof of Delivery means customer signed. The copy the mailman has should show the signature (this is the proof of delivery), this can eaisly be figured out by the post office. So if theres no signature well then maybe he has a case to make a claim for whatever he said the declared value was which I forgot.

It looks like when silix sent the package she put the waiver of signature on it. I'm not sure why, would of been nice to see how badly damaged and torn open the package was. I would of never signed for that and never had this discussion with my dealer.

Waiver of Signature
A "Waiver of Signature" is initiated by the mailer and authorizes delivery of mail at the letter carrier's discretion (if area is secured and protected from weather) without obtaining the recipient's signature

The guy delivering the mail didn't take it - why would the package get delivered if he stole it .... too risky.

Can't imagine customs took it as they would take the whole lot and notify you that your 'contraband' has been confiscated ... at least that's what happens in Australia I believe - no idea where you are, but "mailman" sounds like USA.

Total bummer what has happened .... I think it has been knocked off in the receiving country, by a postal worker close to the final point of delivery ..... just doesn't make sense earlier - having said that though, millions of packages flow through postal systems every day so it would be difficult to track everything - of course, there should be a tracking number which might help a bit. I think we have automatic cover up to $100 here ... I don't know what you have and don't know if insurance was an option when you purchased.

Finally, I can't imagine why the original seller would/should provide a refund or replacement (not saying you're asking for such) but on one hand it would make a great goodwill story to assist you - on the other hand, it may open the floodgates for customers to make spurious claims ..... either way, I am sorry that you lost your watch! I am wondering if I will get mine now.

i've had gen watches before, but looking for my next purchase i found that these replica watches are, or seem to be really nice. instead of spending 6gs on a submariner, I could get all the watches that I ever wanted and not really worry about getting them damaged etc.. the value of 1500 usd to someone is relative..

Ok please post a pic of the shipping label clearly showing the mailer waived the signature.

I believe him. It's a lot of work for a $300 watch he already paid for and may or may not be covered by the dealer under such a scenario.
While the story is weird, the "scam" is virtually hopeless.
I hope something works out, but sadly I think you may just be SOL.

hard to take a pic with the bag being mangled, and I dont want to mess around with it much as i want to present to the post office people exactly
the way it came.

The following is in response to your 08/31/2011 request for delivery information on your
Express Mail(R) item number EE xxxxxxx C N. The delivery record shows that this item
was delivered on 09/06/2011 at 02:37 PM in RIVERVIEW, FL 33578. The recipient's signature
is not available because the waiver of signature that you authorized was exercised at the time
of delivery.
Thank you for selecting the Postal Service for your mailing needs. If you require additional
assistance, please contact your local Post Office or postal representative.
Sincerely,
United States Postal Service

I can't make out anything, sorry, try again.

thats what the proof of delivery says, thats the mailer set it up as "waiver of signature", who knows maybe in an hour silix will email me and send out the watch, im really not interested in "scamming" anyone, i would just like the watch, dont want a refund. just the watch.

Michelle has been cool throughout our conversations, so Im sure she will email me here shortly..
