Here's a few pics of me and my boys taken back in 1988 when we had our last strom

I'm in Jersey about 15 miles inland from the shore, and it's raining and windy.... just waiting for Irene to do her thing...This storm is scaring everyone to death here.

All the best for those to get hit by Irene. Not used to such dramatic storms over here.

Yeah Raleigh seems quiet. Just watching the news and Atlantic beach pier is half destroyed! Signs down, tin roofs off etc.. Hope no one else gets hurt. NY everything is closed except the bars I saw.. Everyone's partying in times square.

Im in Wilson , in between raliegh and greenville , we had some limbs fall and the roof on my small shed lifted halfway off and lost one french door on my garage but nothing too bad , just alot of water and wind and debris,, electric went out a few times but came back very quickly, i really think the bigger damage was more towards pamlico and goose creek area ,, glad everyone here so far is doing well, it feels good to be back in the mix :)

Heard from a friend things look slighty better but she`s been filling up on food and water just to be on the safe side.

Hope it works out for all of you over there !

The were just saying on MSNBC (this is THE only time I can sit through their broadcast!) that the winds are more like a CAT 2 or 3 the higher up you are in the hurricane, meaning those who are in highrise buildings are going to be in greater danger of broken/blown in windows than those below. Guess this is one time not to be envious of those who live in penthouse apartments.
