Hi guys.

I just got my Superocean II from puretime. Watch looks great but i wanted to see if its waterproof enough for shower, bath, pooling :)

Took a glas of really warm water and dipped thw watch, and it imidiately started to rise bubbles from the watch. This must mean that the watch wont hold water outside right?

Is there anyway to fix this? Any EU modder who might be able to work on it?

Hmm... Should we expect water resistance to be safe on these replica watches?
Ive seen threads wjere people suggest we shouldnt expect nothing cos of zero quality control.

I take it you are sure that the air was not trapped air from the outside of the cage. It can sometimes be difficult to tell the difference.

Assuming it is not water tight, this is not unusual. I would never use a watch in water without having it pressure tested first. You should do the same.

Most reps of sports watches are designed so that they can be waterproof enough to swim. But not all, and not always obvious.

Lately Mary (who is a very straight dealer) pointed out that an Oris diving watch could not be water proofed.

But mostly it is a question of greasing and re-sealing. Not a big deal for a watch maker, and many members here do it themselves (not me though...)

I would love to have it pressure testd. But ive read in swedish forums that no watch repair shops will touch these reps here :(

I doubt they would know it was just a rep when you just ask for pressure test.

Grease the seals (crown and caseback) and seal the hev valve its there for show only.
if you really want to make it waterproof glue the cystal in too :)

BTW do not believe the dealers on waterproofing, i doubt the rep factories do pressure testing :D

Depth Rating
Usages 10 Meters
33 Feet
1 ATM
A watch with this resistance level is protected against accidental exposure to water; for example, splashes, perspiration or accidental immersion. It should not be exposed to any water pressure.
30 Meters

100 Feet

3 ATM
This level will easily withstand splashes or brief immersion in water, or getting caught in the rain. However, it is not sufficiently resistant for swimming or bathing.
50 Meters
165 Feet
5 ATM
A watch with this level of resistance is wearable around household sinks, while playing sports and while swimming in shallow water. Do not wear it while bathing, snorkeling or scuba diving.
100 Meters
330 Feet
10 ATM
This level of water resistance will allow a watch to be worn around household sinks, while playing sports and while swimming, poolside diving or snorkeling. Do not wear it while scuba diving
150 Meters
500 Feet
15 ATM
A watch with this resistance level is wearable around household sinks, while playing sports and while swimming or poolside diving. It is also suitable for snorkeling and scuba diving.

i agree with AMA, i always let my dealer know that i will 1000% be using there waterproofing claims and always ask along with qc pics to what atm the watch achieved in pressure testing, its always a good thing to remember chrono watches are harder to seal than non chrono, send it back to dealer for replacement or refund and ask him to cover shipping!

Bubbles will not be from inside the case. They were from under the bezel. The air from inside the watch cannot escape without a pressure differential. Just take it down to a local jewelry store and get it tested. Just make sure they don't sell Briets and you should be golden.

If after this test there was condensation forming UNDER the crystal then you have an issue.

"TTK" may be long gone....>>>

(Or not!!),.... but his advice on water and reps still stands....:
"not even on a misty day"....
The words "water resistant" on a rep carry about as much veracity as "Swiss Made"...
If you REALLY need a watch to wear underwater, go to Wal-Mart and buy a $20. Casio....

I bought a SFSO from Puretime when they first came out. I've literally been scuba diving with it without problems. Unless your watch has stopped, I wouldn't start worrying just yet.

not agreeing with that mate at the end of the day the high end reps carry a near 3-400 price tag and if someone states there water resistant then thats including in what i pay for, if its not then its going back!! if the dealer values your custom and i have spent a fair bit of money mine then they will put it right, different story if the dealer does not claim water resistant of course.

Water resistency on a rep is hit or miss are best ..... I find that chronograph watches are the LEAST likely to have water resistency, but if you want to be sure, get it tested or stay out of the water!

Hmm.. this is a bit stupid.
I just saw on puretimewatch.com (where i bought the watch from) that they "sell" a waterproof test of the watch before shipping for 20 bucks. Should have done that i guess lol.

Na, I wouldn't trust a dealer's water test from any of 'em. Have it tested at home by some one who will get it right. Who knows who the dealer's have do it or if it's done right.

You sure the bubbles you saw were not from under the bezel?

So far I wash hand, shower or whatever with higher price rep without any problem.

I know the cheap one(A21J with plastic holding) cannot be trusted.

I tested again, and it keeps coming bubbles from under the bezel, and also really slow and small bubbles from the side of the crystal

I make it a habit of always greasing the o-rings on the caseback and crown. I've seen some watches where the caseback wasn't even tightened down properly. As always, if this is a rep you're looking to keep for a while, it's always a good idea to have it gone through first thing by one of our trusted watchsmiths.
