What's up guys?
I love me some pepsi GMT and I want to make an 80s/90s slighlty aged GMT...
I don't want it to look like it just cam back from vietnam just a little worn...

I started out with this not knowing whether it was a good base or not, just ordered it.

GMT-Master II 16710 Blue/Red Bezel Correct Hand Stack
http://www.puretimewatch.com/product/gmt-master-ii-16710-bluered-bezel-correct-hand-stack/

When it arrived it was DOA and I couldn't get it to work, at all!
After getting frustrated I smacked it against my hand fairly hard and it's been working a few days like a champ and a total of 3 days on PR.
The rotor is spinning freely and quietly and the time is right on.

I am sending a few watches over to PbDad for some aging. A red sub, spinmaster daytona and this here GMT.

My main concern is the dial. Is this dial correct for 80s early 90s?
Also, I slapped a jubilee on here and IMO, it's Pimp so I want to keep it that way. I'm thinking to have the lug holes drilled..What do you say?
Is that correct for the time period I'm shooting for?

I appreciate the input. Thanks, James!

Very good choice Bro, correct had stack. I always loved GMT-II but the wrong hand stack is always a massive put off. Now we got a winner watch. I may draw some cash to get this one.....

JamDot - that is an excellent looking piece! However, both of you should be aware that it's better to get the incorrect hand stack version. The correct hand stack is a ticking time bomb, based upon the complication necessary to modify the hand stack being wholly unstable. Perhaps this has something to do with it being DOA. Crossing my fingers that it remains trouble free for you, but as a betting man....

I purchased the same watch. Unfortunately, mine stopped running about a month after I received it. After an attempt to get the original movement to run (thanks to the skills and effort from Katt), it still wouldn't run accurately. So, I had Katt put in an ETA 2836-2 I purchased from O.Frei. It's running great now. It keeps better time than my dad's gen that I spent $$$ to get overhauled! CHS is a big issue, I know, but I wanted this watch to run reliably.

Did the replacement that Katt installed still run CHS?

People use the "ticking time bomb" line often, about CHS movements and about sec@6 movements. I've never had a problem with any of my sec@6 movements. I've never torn down a CHS movement, but I'd like to--I'm willing to bet there's no reason it couldn't also be made reliable, with a little care.
