Hi Guys/girls,

I have a cheap panerai (my first one, thats why it was a cheap one) from Lay with a 6497 movement.

I can't set the time anymore, I can wind it but when I pull out the crown, it keeps winding instead of turning the hands.

I'm gonna try and repair it myself (bought a lot of tools from watchbitz a few months back!), anyone has an idea? I'm guessing something with the mechanism in the movement...

THanks!

Sounds like something to do with the Keyless Works.

I have the opposite problem - I can change the time but can't wind it!

Can be a keyless issue, however it can also be something as simple as the crown having partially unscrewed (or screwed on further), altering the setting length. Make sure that the various positions are actually being located.

Hi guys! Thanks for your answers, i've solved it!

I took off the crownguard and i could pull out my stern completely, so i opened it up and the screw that holds the stern came loose, so i've tightened it and now it works great again!

I was going to tell you to wait until it showed the correct time then wind the crap out of it and then wind it every morning whether you wear it or not.
But your way worked too I guess.
