Hi, gang!

I just received this green-on-green Submariner from Stan today. I know the green/green style is offered by Rolex (see: Rolex.com), and I was fascinated by it. When I received it, the green/green was darker than I thought (but not based on Stan's pics). I compared the sub to the one shown on Rolex.com. Tell me honestly, what you do think about the color and other "stuff?" I know there are several obvious flaws, though. And, uh, I know I forgot to remove the "Sapphire" sticker; didn't see it. dave:

not sure if its the pics or the lighting but on my end that watch looks to have a very dark grey dial and bezel

I'd swap the dial for a black one and put one of these on it...

Thanks for the quick replies, guys. Didn't expect it. To joe & rminb: yes, it's green but a dark green. I'll try to take some outside shots soon (if it ever STOPS RAINING in PA) & show all.

I have the same watch and I, too, have been trying to compare it with the gen. There are some minor flaws, but you pretty much have to know your Rolexes to spot them.

I thought about switching to a black dial, but I really like the way it looks as is. All i'm doing to it is swapping out the movement for a 2836 and correct hands.

Yea, that green is way off from gen. But its also very noticeable in WBKs photos as well. I mean, as soon as i saw it I knew there was something off with the color. Its def not the same or even close to gen, on the other hand, you could do some cool stuff with that color combination- a dark green nato would look badass.

An Update/Addenda on "Green" Sub.

Here's some pics taken in natural "sunlight" after it briefly stopped raining. Yeah, I know it's dark green; I knew that going in after seeing the sale pics on Stan's website. I was curious about it. I'll probably keep it the way it is. (Not much of a modder... .)

Hey! Just thought I'd add this (I've you haven't see it.) This was posted by John Mayer a while back... By a similar comparison, how do you feel it matches up in that light?

...it doesn't, but it does have a nice lume, though (and an "air of mystery," as in What the hell is THAT!!???)

Judging on the pictures, the rep looks far better than the Gen....
