hi

after looking through your forum and the recomended dealers , i think i have got my heart set on the briteling navimeter with a leather strap.

now i have probs found the watch which i will get i have a few questions.

i know these watches are replicas and the prices reflects that but just how reliable are they ?

are they virtually identical to the real thing , do they have a reasonable quality.

ive found it a little hard to look at the shops of some of your dealers but i did manage to navigate a dealer from the USA.

A dealer from the U.S.? Are they trusted here?

As for your questions, I will try and answer them:

1. Reliability really depends a lot on the movement. If you are looking at a Navitimer (not a navimeter) it will likely have a 7750 movement. At some point it will likely need servicing. Some people suggested servicing right away, but I just wait it out for it to die and then service it.

2. They have reasonable quality, but are not going to be virtually identical to the Gen as they cost a ton less. You can't expected to get a 4k quality watch for 200 dollars. Many of the reps are very close to gen though and have a substantial feel to them.

3. Most shops are really easy to navigate through, I would always stick to a trusted dealer on this site and therefore it will likely come from China, not the United States. I purchased this exact watch a month ago or so and it is still running strong: http://www.replicamake88.com/produc...IMER-CHRONO-SS-ASIAN-7750-28800BPH-BLACK.html

I will also note that you could likely find the majority of these answers if you spent some time researching on the forums. There is a wealth of knowledge you should utilize prior to buying a replica watch.

Just use the search engine in RWI, and check out By-Tors review about the Navi.
The movements are ok.

There are several threads about whether to service the 7750 right away or wait. It could die quickly or die in 4 years, it is kind of random.

Purtimewatch is not in the United States. It will ship from Asia like most other dealers.

They all get their watches from the same place (at least the trusted dealers here). You will be fine if you stick with one of them.

For the most part they do get the same watch. It's more the version of the watch that is important. Puretime is based in the UK but ships from China. Only prob with Puretime is the drop ship so may not have seen the watch they send you. Replicamake is a good choice because he sends QC pics of the watch and regulates it. A regulated a7750 will keep very good time. My a7750 movement lasted 2 years and I abused it by wearing it playing golf and doing diy etc. Had I taken better care of it I'd probably have got longer out of it.

Personally I never service an Asian 7750, I just run them till they die then replace them with a genuine Swiss eta 7750. The Swiss movements average between $200 and $300 and will last the rest of your life if serviced every 4 years or so.

if this is what you want. buy one from replicamake. lay gets great reviews. gives good QC pics. have it serviced in the USA (or just rock it till it dies and put a good one in as said above). it should be good for a while (4-6yrs.). also learn what you CAN NOT DO with a 7750. do a search. there are rules. it's not a free for all. but if you have the mvmt. serviced and treat it right you should have no problems. really it's a lot of watch for less than 500bucks out the door....

It's not the same for all Navitimers. The ones with seconds at six ( tricompax) are the unreliable ones. The others with seconds at 9, have the standard issues of the unmodified 7750 movements. My TagCarrera with this movement has been running with no problems and pretty accurate since 2009.

If you choose not to buy something to keep your the watch wound, you will need to be careful every time you set the date. Read up on the 7750 movement and the pit falls as it is easy to break your watch movement.
