I don't have either of these, but I like #1!

I have the Datejust similar to #1. I wear a suit and its a classic look. The silver roman numerals against the silver dial don't provide much contrast. If I had to do it again I would probably get something that has more contrast like your #2 or with black numbers. I still luv the watch I got mine from TS.

Agree on the "contrast" part. I got the glacier blue dial with blue numbers and the dark blue (almost black) hands and it's not that hard to read the time.

I also got the DJ II with dark green roman numerals on a gray face. Although the hands contrast pretty well it's not the easiest to read.

I'm sure if I was 20 years younger it wouldn't be an issue, but I DO need the contrast and that will be a major consideration on future purchases.

Think that's why the Sub is such a classic. Nothing easier to read than white hands on a black dial!

Just adding my $0.02 here... I give that exact DD a lot of wrist time and marvel at how much the stainless steel looks just like white gold... it really is an impressive watch!:notworthy:

The dial with the Roman Numerals looks the best,IMHO. Go with that lookl; very elegant.
