If it is mineral it CAN be buffed out. Most jewelers can do it. I actually had my jeweler buff out scratches on the exact same type of rep from TS. It looked as good as new when he was finished. The AR is almost positively on the inside, and shouldn't be effected by the scratches, or polishing.

Thanks mate! Will do and take the crystal to a jeweler to check.
Congrats on your wedding btw! Well done!

It can be buffed out regardless of mineral or sapphire.
Watchbitz have the polishing kit you need to do it yourself for a few dollars.
Look on the website: www.watchbitz.com.au under consumables - polishing

I knew sapphire could be polished, but I thought it was a much more difficult process. Thanks Col.

It's not worth trying to remove the scratches, a mineral crystal usually costs less than 5 euros. 10 at most.

If you have ready access, maybe. But it cost me $10 and took 15 minutes, as opposed to $5+shipping and weeks of wait time. Just my experience :)

Mon ami, where can I purchase these? (cousins?); it´s always the shipping costs that suck big time with these low cost items...

Your best bet is the dealer you've got the watch from.

Getting an aftermarket will me a bit more complicated since you need to find a crystal of the right size, with the right curve, ...

If you know what "model" it is (UPO for example) I can try finding you a crystal. Including shipping it shouldn't be more than 15 euros.

Even if you're a very fast gun and have the proper equipment, getting the scratches off is at least a 30 minutes job. You need to get the crystal out, sand the scratches down, and polish using diamond paste. I doubt anyone will do it for less than 15 euros.

Thanks Wiz, maybe I´ll come back to you.

I´ll take the crystal out myself and take it to my local "small" jeweler asking him then about the costs of polishing. As crystal is already out I´ll take measure with with fine measureing tool. Maybe I can source at:
