so i have a buddy of mine that has a winners 24 daytona than he swears was certified by Shreve in San Francisco... i told him the crown and crown guard looked retarded. and the chrono shouldnt have the days of the week on it let alone the winners 24 engraving...

The CG does look a little too big, the crown should just be poking out.

It has writing on the back, and subdials are in line with 3 and 9 o'clock, obvious and cheap fake.

Those 2 plus dials at 3 and 9 where the quick giveaways. Had a friend we were discussing reps so he pulled out 2 reps. Both 2813 movements. A daytona and a Cartier roadster chrono with fauxchrono. The cartier was identical to my dads gen roadster all around except for the tick. The daytona was nothing like a real daytona.

When the edges of the "gold" are all rubbed to silver it's another pretty big tell. End link fit is pretty terrible, and (like you all mentioned) the crown being lower than the CGs looks atrocious. That's a $50 21j retardtona. Not quite flamboyant enough to be a gaytona.

Its funny that the case back says Rolex 24 ad Daytona. The race title is Rolex 24 at Daytona. Probably lost in translation.
