So after seeing Smidys modded B&R I decided to have a crack myself.
I have this in the for sale section but I'm going to take it down now as I like it.

I was trying to get a subtle aged patina kind of look. So onto the buffer and polisher it went :D A couple of hours later and I had something I was happy with.

Its come out as a kind of half PVD half SS kind of feel. An faded shiny gun metal grey if that makes any sense...

The pictures really really cant seem to capture the finish on the watch properly, It sort of changes tone depending what angle you have it. The wrist shot better captures the colour of it. Honestly it look really amazing on the wrist. Waaaay better than in the images. It was a real pita to photograph :lolcina:

I really like it now, even though its a quartz. I actually only bought it to see how I felt about the larger B&R> if I liked it I would get a mechanical non chrono. Still will now!

Oh yeah its e**fin HUGE but starting to get used to it. Going to change the strap as I damaged the edges a little as I was unable to get the derned things off. Allen keys either too large of too small.. oh well. Smidsy Strap please :) you know the size now :biglaugh:

so on to the piccies

Your welcome you inspired me after all :) and what's micromesh?

I have another two PVD on the way levelmonger so I will do a step by step on how I did it if you like. will take some more time to do a better job next time too.

Artsy, not sure about using a dremmel thought I do have one. I don't know If they have a Sisal type buffing wheel which is what I used.

The one I used has some very fine steel threads through it with a brown cutting compound. On a non chrono with the straps off it would work allot better! The crystal does not scratch, so leaving the watch together would be no problem. light pressure and some patience is all it takes.

The watch has not actually been polished yet. this is in in the raw as it where.

Still have some final polishing to get the finer marks out.

Couple more pics to try to capture the colour and tone, pardon the big fingerprints. The allen key shows the colour change it went from.

Next to try will probably be a SS version of something with an acid etch. Lighter than this example though (alot lighter). This was an extreme test. SS is extremly hard to age.

Smidsy has gotten me well bitten by the mod bug :D

Have to go with the experts advice here - looks like you ewant right past aged back to SS. Looks great, but not like battle worn PVD.

I think I'll just go with some fine grit sandpaper and see what happens. I've noticed that the lingo outside of the United States is so much different than what things are called here. Sometimes the advice can be more confusing than helpful. BUT...I do appreciate the comments :)
