I did a search and I couldn't really find a proper way to ship thread. Anyways I know there isn't any official way to ship a watch, but I would really like to start a thread that show

1. the most economical way to pack a watch properly for shipping. (ie the lightest/cheapest but still appropriate)
2. what is the best way you have seen a watch shipped
3. what is not appropriate or enough cushioning
4. pictorials on the packaging. good and bad.

hopefully this will help some noobs like me for quick access on how to ship properly.

Thanks!

Please add suggestions if you have any.

thanks! maybe I typed in the wrong words.

that thread is a start... but is there a more economical way? I've seen people use newspaper to ship the watch. Also some that made their own boxes... etc... Please post if you are one of those... and post if you've had bad experience... This thread meant for knowledge management for the Good and Bad of shipping watches.

In the US I use a small flat rate priority box from the USPS. (VERY convenient and shipping cost doesn't depend on weight).

I use a cellophane-like wrapper for the watch and bracelet. Wrap it in bubble wrap and ship. Never had a problem.

Ditto to Dustin's Post

DITTO. It's basically the way I ship. Important to protect the merchandise during shipping... .

Thanks dustin! I will definitely try this next... last one I shipped was like $10. This will definitely cut that in half. Think you could do a pictorial?

I was putting mine in watch boxes w/ pillows and a small cardboard box when I was selling off most of my watches. Now I wish I kept the pillows.

It is not a good idea to post photos of shipments with your tracking number on it.

I keep the foam boxes that dealers send.
Here is a watch I sent someone.

yeah, I usually just keep old boxes and cover them with brown packing paper. And of course use a ton of bubble wrap and the little zip-lock bags again... I sound so green!
