Hey guys,
Basically, I'd like to get my Milgauss serviced/overhauled and regulated, and also sealed. It's too time consuming and risky (Customs) to send it overseas to our trusted watchsmith's here, I'm looking into Australian options but so far I've come up with nothing on the forum so I'm looking to start canvassing local watchsmiths, of which there really are not many who do proper auto's, most touch only battery replacements and water tests. Adelaide is, unfortunately, a small place.
I've drafted up an e-mail but I really have no idea what to write. So I'd like input on it, suggestions and additions very welcome, or if you know of an Aussie dealer I could post it to, that'd be great too!
I've mentioned it's a rep, I've mentioned the movement (Not that it's Asian as I imagine this will needlessly scare them off), I've outlined it still works and what I want done to it, but I have not mentioned the brand because I don't really think I need to, the focus is on the movement, not Rolex, cause I'm afraid if I say that they'll assume I've been swindled and it's dodgy and refuse to work on it. What do you guys think?

Hi,
I'm wondering if you'd be able to service an ETA 2836-2 automatic movement, and if so, how much would I be looking at paying for it?
The watch was a gift from someone close to me who found it overseas and figured I'd enjoy it, it's a replica but certainly not a cheap quartz, it is a stainless steel watch with a mineral sapphire crystal, with a 28,800bph, 25 jewel ETA 2836-2 movement which I have confirmed. It doesn't require repair as it's been running solidly and keeping itself wound for a long time now, but it could probably use a good overhaul and regulation to freshen it up a bit internally. The regulation in particular I'm after, it's always run a bit fast. In the order of 6 seconds, depending on which way I leave it facing when I put it down.
I also have not had it pressure tested, it's supposedly water resistant to 30 metres and I've gotten it wet without issue but never actually swam with it as it's excellent quality despite the inaccurate brand and I'd hate to ruin it, I'd like it sealed if possible. Anything you can do would be much appreciated. I'm hoping as you mention on the site "Tackle all jobs, that no one else will touch - Love a challenge - we think outside the watch square- Watch Doctor are the people where 'others' have turned away" that a replica would not be a problem for you, considering the well known movement inside it. Let me know what you can do, hopefully it isn't a problem! I'm located in Adelaide so if you'd feel more comfortable viewing it in person then I'm happy to bring it in, but I'd really like to take care of it, replica or not it's a great piece in my eyes and it means a bit to me.
Kind regards,
Jake
