I have a "secret" checking account my wife has no idea exists. I don't put a ton of money in there a month, just enough off the top of each paycheck that she doesn't notice (only about $450/month). This account is a real lifesaver for trips to the strip clubs, vegas, golf courses and clubs, watches, basically all my vices
That stuff is easier to lie about though.
Q. Where did you go last night?
A. Oh I just went to chris's house and drank some bears there (really went to the tittie bar and dropped $1500)
Q. Where'd you get the new golf club?
A. Oh one of the guys at the club got a new one and gave me that one. (dropped $400 on a new driver)
Q. What did you guys do in vegas
A. Oh you know we're all old men. Had dinner, played some cards and went to bed. It's not like it used to be. (alcohol and stripper fueled weekend that blurs together)
You get the idea. Now before you say this is wrong, keep in mind that she doesn't work, and I fully financially support her wants/needs/and lifestyle. I work about 60-70 hours a week, and really do nothing for myself outside of my "fun money" so I feel that I work hard enough and am entitled to enjoy a little of my money.
That said, I'm not entirely sure how I'm going to pull off the watches. There's just going to be so many of them I can't really hide them. She's going to want to know where they came from. She knows I have two on the way, but what about when the other 4 show up I also ordered this week? When I've got a new watch box and in a week there's 10 beautiful watches in there in like 2 weeks... well the money had to come from somewhere.
So because of this, I'm thinking about just hiding them in my car and introducing her to a new one say once a month until I catch up, and then only buying a couple a year. I don't think I really need 30 reps at once, but there were 10 I really liked so I went ahead and got them
Is EVERYONE upfront and honest about what they are buying and how much they are spending with their spouses, or do you guys just say to hell with it and buy what you want and try to hide them or lie about the cost?
