Uneven crystal on DSSD ($88 Lay)

I just received my $88 DSSD from Lay. I'm very happy with it apart from slight unevenness in the crystal. It's higher at 6 o'clock than at 12. I'd appreciate any thoughts on (a) whether you think the unevenness is significant; and (b) what I should do about it. I'm not inclined to send it back, but maybe there's a home fix that I could do of some sort.

Apologies for the unclear picture, I don't have a macro mode/macro lens so it's hard to show exactly. Here's a shot of the watch face, just to show that in other respects it's nice :)

Mine's the same.

Lay told me "For this grade, factory do not really care the sitting alignment"

It's a matter of luck to get this watch without issues.

Someday I'll fix it.

It's like that sometimes.
You can have someone press it for you.
Not really a massive thing
And for $88 it's ok

Yup! Can't be too fuzzy for a $88 watch. But for me, I am willing to pay more for a better movt and better quality watch.

Cool, thanks for the feedback guys. I'm happy since it seems consistent with what other people have gotten. For $88 it's not a big deal, although I have plenty of other watches at around that price that have no problem. Is the DSSD crystal particularly hard to put in? And re-installation of the crystal sounds like a pretty major operation, would a regular watchsmith be able to do it?

What's a dial press? If I just push it really hard might it do it? Or a vice (carefully)?

Your alignment really isn't horribly noticeable, but since it bothers you the first thing I would try is firm thumb pressure. Separate your band at the clasp so you can lay your watch flat. Put it on a pine board - the pine is soft and will let the lugs dig in without harming them, or your furniture. Now with steady and firm pressure, press on your crystal with your thumbs. Keep your arms straight, and use the weight of your body.

If this doesn't work, you can try the vice, but you have to be careful about the set-up. I've used my vice before for various things, but I always sandwich the case between two pieces of pine. Go super slow and keep checking your work.

 I'll try some firm pressure myself, but after that I'll just let it go and be at peace with the imperfection. After all it cost $88 not $9k :)

My Noobmariner had the same problem when it arrived I pressed it in with a selfmade tool and now it is perfect I did not take it out but just put some exta pressure on it.

Good option is to buy al tool for it in China on the Bay cheaper then a wachmaker and alway's handy to have it.
