i love this watch, and want to buy it, but i don't see much here on the forum about it (most talk is of the big pilots, and the quality of the top gun rep)

that being said, does anyone know how the quality of this rep is? is it riddled with flaws or is it pretty good compared to gen? how's the actual watch itself?

if not lay - who would be the best to buy it from?

any comments would certainly be helpful in my decision to purchase or not.

I bought mine from Angus (Puretime), but I think they all come from the same factory. The main tell as far as I know is that the 0 in 10 is slightly crooked. Concepta occasionally comes up with gen dials if that bothers you, I decided to live with it. Otherwise, it's a pretty good rep. Here's what I did to mine:
Taka AR; ETA day/date wheels; Vac Lume; Gunny Strap. It will go to Zig for service at some point.
FWIW, I think it's beautiful - one of my favorite watches.

also, would concepta perform the mods you mentioned on a rep? i notice he typically only builds from all gen parts.

Not. Selling. Ever.
Not much else to add. I found the rep bracelet a bit flimsy, but I prefer the look with a strap anyway. Plenty of good after-market straps around.
Dealer-wise, take your pick. I've had good experience with Mary recently, but I'm sure they can all get this for you.
If concepta won't install the dial (I think he might, though), there are a few guys who will do it for you. Just depends where you're located.
I say do it. The fact that not everyone else has one just makes it more appealing to me.

Just in case you haven't contacted concepta yet - he can source for IWC parts (and the dial) and while I don't think he'll be the one doing the swap, he will get someone else to do it for you (if it can be done), package deal. But I guess you'll have to send him your watch. Alternatively, why not ask him if he can source the rep watch and gen dial for you. The latter is how he's building a franken for me - great guy, Concepta.
