I'm currently building also a Franken build as a Daytona is my dream watch but I refuse to put this amount of money on a watch that can be stolen.

I'm currently with these parts :
- BTF 116500 White Dial
- CF Bezel / CF Dial
- Gen Hands, Crown, Pushers

I'm trying to find ARF bracelet as they are apparently the best but I don't know how to find one...

ARF bracelet is a myth, just get the Clean bracelet professionally softened and rebrushed and it's as good if not better than ARF.

Note that CF case doesn't take gen pushers, it needs to be retapped if I recall.

The CF bezel in my opinion should have a platinum plating mod done if you want to to go the full way, or some kind of sharpie mod.

My eyes CF bezel numbers dont shine as bright as gen in indoor photo. It's very minor though. Let me find photo.

Cf bracelet or btf is fine imho, professional rebrushing solves the issue with both bracelets. Instead of focusing on bracelet itself focus on the SEL fit with the case in my opinion.

The DayTona difference between CF, BTF and gen

Bezel The letters are identical. CF: whiter, a bit brighter, and clear textured which is closer to the gen BT: bit more gray, the texture is not as good as CF They both have a problem: chamfering the edges of the bezel more or less which is different from the gen. But it feels better this...

You misunderstand what I mean by platinum plating mod on bezel. It's not a plating, it's sputter coating of the bezel numerals.

Honestly it's very minor and it's just (my) personal taste. Stock is completely fine and 97% of the way there.

Also to correct you, on modern Rolex, markers on dial are white gold alongside the hands.

Just make sure you have yourself a budget or plan accordingly if you do lol the Daytona build rabithole can get pricey once you source gen parts etc ! ENJOY

Reshaping a rep case is not an easy task, check if the modder have experience with this first.

I later changed out my rep case with a gen, mainly because i wanted to keep this build in my collection, and my other daytonas where gen.

My surgestion would be, keep the case stock, you can't achieve a 100% gen result no matter what you do. Keep the bezel CF as well, if you don't have a gen besides it, you wont know the difference in daily wear.

If you love the watch in 6 months, and want to keep it 4ever and ever Start upgrading with gen parts.

If you really want a nice build, start with a gen dial and hands.

Received my black CF 126500 (DD4131) today. With the less shiny subdials, and the cloudier crystal, it really lacks the 116500's sparkle. In some light conditions it even looks a bit dull. Let's see which one I will prefer going forward.
Compared to the CF 126500 Panda, the bezel filling is better, but the bracelet is not quite as nice.

respectfully disagree on this one. The 126500 black dial with a genuine crystal is an absolute beauty. Id even say nicer than the panda. Kind of regret selling it now damn it.

Between The 12 and 11 series, the choice for me is easy. Somethimg is off with the overall proportions with the 12 series dial In my opinion.

It's completely personal preference. The 11 series dials look fat to me now. The 12 series is more refined in my eyes.

My favorite: BTF 116500LN with Dial CF V3 and Bezel Paint
