Hello All,

Maybe this is a random occurrence, but...

Last night I tried RM to do a little comparison between Lay's 42mm UPO and one that is currently for sale in the forums. I was dismayed to find RM came up as an attack site. RM is now good to go as of about 3PM. Ended up with a "JAVA/OpenConnect.AL" trojan in my system that was not evident in the previous days scans. It is a low level threat but something I have yet to find in my computer prior to this. I was also running Google Chrome instead of Firefox (suggested by someone on this forum) which seems to be more vulnerable. Noted a spike in the number of ad trackers, etc; that can show up in daily scans.

Precious Time is still considered an attack site. I think there is one other, but I am a little bleary from all the damn surfing I do as a result of my finding this forum. Anyway, is this a common thing, especially when dealing with websites based in Asia? Has anyone else had their computer compromised as a result of their searching??

Yes! You are not alone my friend. See attached file. I logged a ticket with the forum's tech support to make them aware as well.

I have a pdf of my screenshots, but ah... never mind. The forum won't let me upload a pdf for some reason.

Never mind. I'm not able to upload a pdf of my screen shots for some reason.

I had the same experience the other night. I saw that Lay posted in his forum to use http://www.replicamake.net/ instead. That seems to work for me (running Firefox)

Cheers.

i wonder if they do it because they are rep sites rather than try close them down?

I use sandboxie (www.sandboxie.com) for my surfing on Asian websites. It is a very effective sandbox that runs in a special mode. You can run e.g. Firefox, let them wreak havoc on your system. Later you close the sandbox and all drive-by infections and stuff is gone.

Pretty nifty, cost is like 20USD last time I checked.

Who is "they"? And you say "if they do it", do what?

why the web site owners of course who else? bit of a crazy question is that. wouldn't you put a internet warning on your site if you are trying to sell counterfeit goods? :pie:

I'm sorry... But my question wasn't crazy. You didn't include that information in your last post so I didn't know what you were talking about...
