hey guys, just wondering, does the rotor cover have any bearing on the watch movement? I've just received a new watch and noticed that the movement is noisy. After removing the caseback, the rotor cover has been dislodged. I currently dont have a thin screw driver to put it back and just wondering whether I still need to put it back in place or not. thanks.

Do you have pics? I'm willing to help but which watch are we talking about?

The rotor winds the watch, (was it a Breitling?), It attached to a gear which may come loose, also some movements have a tension washer so you may want to see if there are any loose parts

I usually remove it; on a lot of omegas I've seen it jam the rotor.... also noisy rotors are common among gens and reps alike :)

where you based?

ok, just an update...I put back the rotor cover and tightened the screw using a very thin flat screw driver and the watch has been running great for more than 12 hours now....so looks like the rotor had some bearings with how the movement retains its power reserve...hopefully this fixes the issue permanently...
