Ok, I'll try that then, too. But this is very funny: "$45.00 tax incl." TAX? As if a rep dealer was paying taxes...

they pay taxes to the local mafia. :p

talk about value --

$~60-70 gets you a nice starter/beater rep to see if you'd like to continue.

$165 gets you a noob DSSD from WBK with clone movt and sapphire crystal... IMO great deal. it's sure to be finished well and the lume and insert are great to boot.
a little more or less for different models... super-solid entries regardless.

the same can be said for super-reps... example, $725 for a Yachtmaster that's 99% cosmetically identical as gen (compare at $10,800 with Rolex's new pricing).

Value can be had all over here. This is what donaldejose was emphasizing earlier. Remarkable.

interesting how the differentiated pricing tiers are logical & consistent.

Mark and Jamie are EXCELLENT. Got my Ceramic Sub with the Asian ETA in 7 days. Can't beat it and the packaging was bulletproof.

I received my watch today (8 days to the USA), and it is not bad for $45... I have a few better and I have a couple worse. However, ALL of them were more than $45 ($65 with shipping). I the watch for the price, I give it two thumbs up!!! The bracelet is a little "tinny" and light though, but the watch is otherwise outstanding for the price...

Hey, E!

I bought the same watch from Timeshops, and it's a pretty good watch, in my unexpert opinion. I'm not an expert (I'm still learning from the pros on this forum), but to me it looks very good, has nice weight, keeps good time, and has a decent cyclops. Plus, the bracelet has a "solid" feel to it as well. Personally, I'm happy with the purchase.

Just my .02

But this is not the same watch as the $45 noted in the first post, correct?

I do see another one on the same seller's website that is ceramic for $69... so many to choose from.

PS - just to be clear, I do not expect to buy a 100% perfect rep for $45, but what I want is something that a newbie cannot spot as a rep in 5 seconds. 30 seconds-maybe, but 5 seconds, no.

I think I have just decided to get either the Sub RO3283 or the RO8753 from TS.
That way I am getting everything I want - except for one thing (question):
Asian ETA 2836-2 or Swiss ETA?

8753 is $188/$250, the 3283 is $203/$250.

The only diff I see is the 8753 is listed as a 'new version SS' and has the original crown guard, and the 3283 is the 'old version SS'.

I am probably going to opt for the Asian movement based solely on what I read here - folks seem to think it is 'as good' as the Swiss.. ?? Then again, $250 isn't that bad..

I have bought one submariner as above from Timesshop. Paid $45 + $20 (pp). Took 8 days to arrived in Malaysia.
Pretty please with quality except the ss strap felt light and sharp edges.
Great value.

Tracking says mine is waiting for me at the post office! Shipped on the 18th, and in the US on the 26th. Not bad at all...especially considering the holiday in there.

Pics up soon!

A noob would be hard pressed to determine that it's a rep in 5 seconds. In that time all you can look at is the dial, the case, the major parts...and they're all 96% accurate. The only giveaway is the 21.1k sweep...if theyre used to a 28.8k sweep then they might notice. Easy fix: buy the Asian 2836 and have the 28.8k sweep from the start.

Well, I ordered 4 of these at the RWI promotion price for a few of the crew members onboard. 3 black and 1 blue. (As some of you may well know, I own and am partial to the BK WM9 v2 and v3's, which imho, are about as good as they come.)
I placed my order, received a tracking number within 2 days and the order arrived 2 watches short. I immediately contacted Jamie and got an immediate reply that they had been shipped in 2 seperate orders. Sure enough, 2nd tracking number was sent immediately and the other 2 arrived 3 days later. SOME OF THE BEST CUSTOMER SERVICE I'VE EVER SEEN!!
As for the watches...IMO..it would be hard to beat the quality for the price!!
The CG's look good, the bracelet/clasp look good,( hate to admit that the SEL fit to the case is better than my v2 fit.) I got curious and pulled a bracelet. The numbers were between the lugs and they were the CORRECT numbers. And inside the end of the SEL the numbers were there too. They read AD 72200 instead of AD 93250 as they should, but the fact that they were even there on a VERY LOW priced Sub impressed me. I fully wound them and all 4 of them kept time with +/- 1 second per 24 hours with the v2 and the gen Tag 6000 (quartz). THAT was impressive as well. QS date clicks right at 11:56...nice. And I was so impressed with the Blue dial (that one was 68.00) that I'm considering going for a Blue/2836.Most Blue dial/bezel Subs I've seen are a bright looking Sky Blue. This one is not. It's a much deeper color and has a BEAUTIFUL colored dial!! If you're just looking for a quality "beater" that will most likely fool 70% of the bystanders, you will be very pleased with this watch. IMHO, you will be even more pleased going with the 2836 version for a bit more dough.True, the 21j Asain is a very good, reliable mvt but the 2836 is much smoother and WELL WORTH IT.

Hi, E!

Don't worry too much. I purchased one a while ago and have discovered it was a good bargain. Watch itself has decent detail, looks like a Rolex; the A21j works well & has the expected semi-smooth sweep of the seconds hand. Time hacked mine with the atomic clock (www.time.gov) and check watch against it occasionally. Keeps good time. Other forum members have spoken well of it. As some have said: good bargain!
