Nice. They either A) have a quartz running @28.8, which will shorten battery life (new battery technology may make this possible, or B) have a quartz engine winding the main spring on an automatic movement (which would keep it running unworn for years, but not improve overall accuracy).
Either way, I don't like "Quartz" on the dial. Makes it look like a cheap rep.
Very interesting post, but I feel the same way as levelmanroger, having "quartz" on the dial of the Rolex does make it look like a rep even though it isn't.
I am wearing my Oysterquartz right now. I have had it since 1989. I love it. Yes it ticks. It ticks accurately and loudly. Sometimes I have to reposition it on the night stand because it will keep me awake.
