It upsets me to have to share with the community my recent experiences with Hont. I do believe that he is honest and genuinely tries to make his customers happy. That being said, I have had a painful and disappointing experience with him.

I fell in love with the Hublot King Power the first time I saw it in a "you can't afford any of this" type of magazine. It was the reason I found and joined the rep communities.

I ordered my first watch from Hont - a Hublot King Power All Black. When it arrived, I loved it. Bold, beautiful, understated.

After about a week I realised that the minute subdial (at 3 O'clock) stuck at 5min when using the chronograph. I did not want to part with the watch but, weighing the pros and cons, sent it back FOR REPAIR.

http://forum.replica-watch.info/vb/showthread.php/king-power-subdial-sticks-fix-57158?t=57158

After 6 weeks, no word on the repair. Hont then told me he would send me a NEW watch from the factory. I thought this was a fair solution. When I recieved the watch I WAS SHOCKED!! It was disgusting! Damaged, filty and wreaks of cigarette smoke absorbed into the rubber strap (made me want to vomit)!

With this return I also purchase a PAM113 and J12 white ceramic (quartz). When setting the time and date on the J12, I found that the date wheel cannot be set/changed.

I spoke to Hont about these issues and did not get a reply readily. I have taken it up with moderators also who have told me they have been in contact with him.

It has again been 6 weeks since delivery of TWO UNACCEPTABLE watches. Hont has told me he would refund the King Power but has not answered my questions about the details of this refund and he has not even acknowdged the faulty J12.

I think this is completely unacceptable! It has been over four months since my original purchase. I really don't want a refund. I wish I could have found a working King Power in new condition! And I think that being sent 3 lemons out of 4 total watches is a POOR stike rate!!

Trusted dealer? You tell me...

This is an ongoing issue. I am sincerely hopeful that a solution will be offered that will redeem my opinion of Hont. However, in the meantime - be weary.

This is a great community. I love the support and would appreciate anyones thoughts here.

Cheers,

Scott.

Sounds like your induction to the rep world has been a painful one.

Stick with it though Scotty, there are plenty of good dealers out there. I think you just got 'unlucky'. Your complaint seems valid though imho. You did the right thing in taking this to the mods/admin. That should always be the first course of action before making a public complaint but, in this case, I can't fault you for bringing it to our attention.

Things will get better. It's all a learning curve at the beginning......good luck and better fortune in future.

Not your fault for all the drama.. but as a rule you may not want to run your chrono for 5 minutes at a time. I ensure the chrono works as it should when I get a watch, but after that I do not use it. I have two a7750s and they keep better time than some of the 2836 that i have.

To update on the situation. I have shipped the dirty, smelly King Power and the faulty J12 back to Hont today. We are discussing a full refund...

How much does it cost each time to ship a watch back to china?

If you can keep it in the US then you will be much better off. See if the dealer will refund a portion of the repair bill or give you some $$ of your next purchase. Attempting to get a watch back into China will not be fun... God forbid the dealer never receives it. Use a trusted repair guy here, Katt is always a good choice. Or you can always click the link in levelmanroger's signature and use that technique to find a local watch smith.

It cost me about $30-40 Aussie each time to ship back. I use International Registered post. No problems the first time, second shipment in transit (got my fingers crossed). Hopefully the fact that I'm sending them back for refund doesn't affect whether or not they 'make it'!

Its a bit harder to find reliable repairs in Australia. Plus, I have had so many problems with this saga, I feel like a full refund is appropriate.

Update...

Watches sent to China and tracked as "delivered" on 17th November. Still haven't gotten confirmation from Hont that he has received the package (5 days later).

I'm obviously pretty anxious about him receiving the watch and putting through my refund. It's funny how things take longer at this end of the process.

Will keep posted.

Its now been 10 days since watches delivered and I haven't heard from Hont. Not good enough for $600 of credit!

Making me and admins a bit itchy... stay tuned

I can happily report that Hont has settled this matter in an acceptable manner. He has sent a refund through over the weekend - for the total cost of the watches + my two shipping costs.

I did not expect him to agree to reimburse the shipping costs. He has continued to impress with his service.

I have to go out of my way to express my gratitude to this forum, for its community support and to Trailboss99 in particular. It is very reassuring to know that the market is supported by this community and the members of it support each other! This forum is an invaluable source of information and support. For this I am very grateful and have not been turned off by this experience.

Many thanks,

Scott
