J12 date and links

I recently got a J12 quartz movement with date at 6 O'clock from Hont.

I can't seem to change the date. It is a screw in bezel. Once its unscrewed and pulled out the time will change. But as I said, I can't change the date.

Am I missing an intricacy, or is it busted??

Also, I need to take out a few links for my wife. The pins for the removable links are round at the end with a small circular impression in the middle. I have tried to push them out by pressing in the impression with a pin. Is there a different trick to this?

Did you try pulling it out even further..it seems (with mine anyway), pull the crown out once, to change the time, even furthur to change the date. I had a few links removed by a watch guy..I hear the ceramic links are quite easy to break, he did it with ease. Good luck.

Thanks for the suggestion. I have tried to pull the bezel out farther, but it will not go! I am afraid I've got another dud :(

Changing the date is usually the first pull out. Time is the second.

Here's what the links look like:

It takes a very small pin to push them out.

Thanks, I figured the date change was first pull. There is a distinct feel on first pull - date does not change, then a distinct second pull for the time change. I'll have contacted dealer about this problem and another... Awaiting reply...

You realize that the date usually changes by turning it opposite from time setting? Make sure you're going the right direction.
