Hi guys First post here just saying hi and thanks for the great forum. I've found it totally invaluable and enlightening over the little while I've been here and hope to contribute some worthwhile descussion in future. Anyway on to some questions. I've had a good search around and a good read of a lot of the stickies and FAQ threads which have been chocked full of useful info. One thing I haven't been able to find though is any info about local customs. How stringent are the UK customs when it comes to importing replicas? I've read that they don't really mind the fact that you're bringing them in but what about import duty and VAT? What the chances of getting caught? Zero, only if you're unlucky, frequently or 100%? Which courrier service is best to use to minimise risk but are still reliable and quick? Looking to buy from Pure time if that makes any difference. They have all 3 reps that I want to order. Hopefully if all goes ok I can write a small piece on my experience to help out other noobs Thanks guys

Hi Tdi

Us in the UK don't normally have customs issues
I've had 3 reps since April from T4D
1 standard delivery took 6 days
2 Ems delivery took 4 days
I wouldn't bother paying for delivery anymore as standard still get here quite fast IMO

No chance of losing them but there is a small risk of attracting duty. Such is life, rep or gen.

+1 on what Col said. You're good to go and if a watch gets seized a VAT or import tax would be the last thing you'll get. Rather a letter saying this and that but overall there shouldn't be any problem

Cheers guys. Order made $1200 lighter now . Got a feeling this could turn into an expensive hobby (Another one). Now the waiting begins :tumbleweed:

Was also very very close to the white faced SS Bentley Flying B.

Will deffinatly get it next time along with a white faced, SS and gold Daytona if the issues get fixed soon/at all. Loved the Daytona since I almost bought a gen a few years back.
