Na, no reason to limit yourself to UK based dealers, UK customs are softies.
Chopards ain't my strong point so someone else can comment on the watch

Welcome Tim. I used Precious Time (based in UK) and watch was delivered in 8 days.

Superb service and excellent rep. Like Col says, the UK are softies when it comes to customs but by using PT you have zero risk.

You disregard your own statement??

Oh, and... WELCOME!!! :band:

UK Customs are not too tight. The real advantage to the UK based dealers is for other EU countries which are very tight on anything being shipped from Asia. Sweden, for example. The other advantage is that you will get your watch very quickly IF they have it in stock. I think 10 days from Asia to UK is not unheard of, but is unusually fast.
The chopard is an ok watch. This one is running a 21J slow-beat movement and using a mineral crystal which will probably have little or no AR. You will probably be happy with this watch as a starter, but it won't be one you'll hold on to as your knowlege grows and your taste becomes more discriminate.
If it were me, I'd be looking for a high-beat 2824 or 2836 clone movement with sapphire crystal and AR. As the dealers and they can price it if you don't see it on their site.

Good luck!

Always nice to see another UK member, welcome. Yeah, UK customs are without doubt nearly as soft as they come. As as the item is marked as gift or something like a cheap toy, in my experience, they never bother checking!

Interesting, I bought a nice franken from a US member who marked it as a watch with value of $400, I was charged customs duties as appropriate, so just make sure you have it marked as a gift if buying from a member, the dealers know what they are doing!
