It just dawned on me. If the 21J daytonas are available with simultaneous second hand and sec at six sweeping, why not simply freeze the big second hand so that the only sec at six is sweeping? None of us are really that crazy about chrono functions anyway even on the A7750s anyway. Is there a functional difficulty with this? I would think this would be closest to gen without the whole reliability issue, no? Educate me if I'm wrong.

If you asked this before I did not see it. So I'll answer. Yes it can be done. And yes it visually solves the problem. But that is not enough for many folks because they want the chronos to work.
Fakey, if you can make top grade daytona with 21J do this, I'm in line to buy one for a white dial my friend. I'm sure there will be plenty in line as well. Screw the chronos.
I'd love to see this! I know I never use the chronos, so this would be a great and hopefully cheap too!
Any possible update on this? I mean if the A21J with large second hand can move concurrently with the seconds at 6, why the hell not just freeze the large second hand?!?!?! Who among us REALLY use chronos on reps?!?!?! I have a 3717 and I NEVER would use the chronos!

I own 2 Daytona 21J and 1, 7750, If mine 21J had the second hands stopped at 12 o'clock, I'm sure I'd used it more.

one's for 30 minutes and one is 12 hrs. The subdials at 3 and 9 and the large second hand should not be moving and stuck at 12 North position when chrono is not on. Only the small subdial second hand at 6 should be moving all the time. This CAN be done with a 21J; why isn't it done?!?!

I have a 21j daytona with the main seconds hand frozen at 12 and also removed the function of the other 2 subdials (Ie they do not advance) only thing working are the small seconds at 6.
Still the dials of the 21J are off, and unfortunately the 7750 dial (Wich is almost flawleess) does not fit the pinion layout of the 21j.

Hmm, I asked this question of Katt regarding my Omega SMP 21J from T4D and was told it couldn't be done. Maybe I need some clarification here. Any reason why this couldn't be done with this movement?

There used to be a Daytona like that. It was sold by Eddie Lee and River.
Stopwatch functions were all frozen at '12 and only the seconds at '6 moved. A21J movement, 7750 case.
I once asked about that kind of mod directly from Joshua. He answered that the rep makers don't care as the current 7750 version sells so much.
