So I received the watch (PN Daytona exotic black dial with white registers) frow DW last week. Absolutely beautiful watch...fell in love and haven't taken it off my wrist since. This morning I realized it wasn't beating so I reset the time and wound the watch (ordered the manual 7750 so auto rotor removed). I get to work and realize it's not beating. I just sent David an email inquiring what I should do and hope to hear back from him. I also sent Spinmaster a PM to see if this is something he can diagnose and service. Any other suggestions? Man, I hope I can get this corrected!?!

search around here, im not an expert of 7750s or any movement for that matter. I think their is a tricky procedure you have to do to wind them correctly because some of them damage easily...sorry i cant be more specific

What do you mean you "realized it was beating"?
If all that was done to the movement was that the rotor was removed, it will still be susceptible to the sudden-death-syndrome issues of the A7750 movement. This could be the case.
Also, make sure you don't run the chrono if the watch is not fully (or mostly) wound. This can destroy the movement.
Don't set the time or date when the watch is between 10pm and 3am - this can destroy the movement.
Don't push the reset pusher when the chrono is running. You must stop the chrono before you reset it or this will destroy the movement.
Don't hand-wind the watch fast - slow steady turns only or you could destroy the movement.
If you do everything right and treat her with kid gloves, she can still crap out on you for no appearant reason.
Let us know what David says. Good luck!

Hope you didn't order the 20mm one. The PN is 19mm.

levelmanroger, thanks on your reply, especially the characteristics of the movement. Didn't realize how finnicky it was...I will need to pay much closer attn to all those functions next time. Given that I love the watch so much, I may go with a V72 version soon. Hopefully the valjoux movement is a lot more sturdy and can handle the chronograph functions with ease. Finding a good movement at a decent price will be the hard part I think.

In terms of my current watch, I believe the 7750 movement is completely dead. The time and chronograph functions are not working at all. Sent a series of emails to David yesterday and he wants me to send the watch back so he can 'service' it free of charge. Shipping is going to be a pain, but I can't think of a better way to resolve with spending more money. But I definitely agree that the movement is a ticking 'time bomb' of sorts...

guanaco, thanks for the strap link! very similar to what I was looking for...thx bud

I have the same PN watch and love the strap as well. Will the 20mm strap fit without modifications?
