Hello All,

New guy here...I have always said that the "School of Hard Knocks delivers the best education out there"! If only I had known about this wonderful forum 2 months ago.

Here's the reader's digest version: Bought a 111 sandwich dial because pics on site looked great...get the watch and you guessed it, not what was shown in the pics(major tell: L SWISS L instead of L SWISS MADE L) . I've contacted RH and after going round and round, Alicia said she would take the watch back and swap for what I originally thought I was getting. However, it took 3 weeks to get the watch in the first place and I am afraid if I send it for swap, I may never see it again.

Question: What to do? Keep and try to have some mods added in an attempt to bring it up to snuff or roll the dice and see if she can hold up to her end of the bargain?

Hello! Welcome to RWI!

Is the L Swiss L the only thing wrong with it? I'm thinking it may have bigger issues than that? As far as modding the watch, you need to determine whether it's a good candidate for modding. If it's an overall bad rep, then it's not worth the time and money.

This is a pretty good 111 for the money ( The "H' is more accurate. However, the "K" is nice too-----> http://forum.replica-watch.info/vb/showthread.php/offer-high-end-panerai-hand-50168

Many of us found this place the same way you did. The information presented here is quite accuarte. Read!

welcome to RWI!

how much did you pay for the rep? sending it back may not be worth the time and money as you may never see the watch again and RH may never receive it (lost in transit). on top of that, even if they do receive it, they will probably just drop ship another rep to you that may be no better than the one you are sending back to them....

Don't bother, they will send you the same watch you already have, don't waste your time.

I would like to post some pics to see if anyone can tell me just how bad I got taken, but I'm not certain how to do that. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks to all in advance who might be of some assistance.

You need an on-line image hosting account. I use Flickr but there are others, like Photobucket and Imagecave. You upload your photos to your account, copy the url of the image, and pasts it in the pop-up box that pops up when you click the little tree icon. Set the size at about 900 pixels wide or less.

I don't know how to use the megaupload box here.

For what it's worth; add a couple of bucks and you can buy a cup of coffee. There is an old saying about good money after bad. Cut your losses and move on to the greater world of Reps!!!!

If you wouldn't wear it because of the tells, then you might as well roll the dice...

Here are some pics of the actual watch. Sadly, I paid $400 for it so, if mods can be performed I will keep it and let this be a very expensive lesson. If not, I would like to here what you would do as veterans of this game! Much thanks in advance for your counsel!

Never the less, it's a good looking rep. I wish I had something more constructive to say.

I'll give ya $125.00 for it ;-)

Welcome to the Forum! ...AND you have plenty of members who have been in your position -- including me. Listen to the other posters and don't bother sending your Pam back; take a hint from the original: if they weren't decent enough to send you something good the first time, chances are the'll only duplicate what they've done. If it's worth modding, great! If not, keep it as a reminder and your "badge" most all of us have; and use it as experience. Stay with the Forum.

Good luck & best wishes... .

OK...sounds like keeping it is the thing to do. Not to be bothersome or impatient(I've had the watch for a while and have only worn it 3 times because of tells), but do I need to send it to someone in particular in order to determine how much modding needs to be performed or are these pics sufficient?

Just from the research that I have performed on this site I think it needs: New dial(L SWISS MADE L), Cannon pin fix, brushed CG and lever adj(flush pin), relume, addition of swan neck to incabloc, removal of AR and maybe a new set of hands??? Am I headed in the right direction? Please advise

Oh yeah, and replace the 2 blue screws on larger gears!

If I were you, I'd get an idea of what it's worth and sell it. I'm no Pam expert but my thought is you'll end up spending more money than if you bought a nice rep from one of the better Pam dealers. Plus the time and effort of shipping it all over the place.

Maybe an expert will be along to give you more advice on what you've got there. I'm thinking it's about a $100 to $150 rep.

If you really want to make it good , you can ship it to me ans let me make it perfect .
You already spend too much money on it and I really suggest you don't spend extra wrong money .
Here's my list about your 111 , if I want to mod it ,

1.replace a better dial ,
2.relume the dials & hands ,
3.replace the blance wheels to 21.6K VPH with swan-ceck ,
4.replace the blue screws on the two big wheels .
5.Brush the CG , and do the CG pin fix , also tighter the lever .
6.flaten/polish the cannon pin top .
7.remove the AR if the crystal is sapphire crystal .

I think those are much enough .
Let me know if you want me to do it , I still have spare movement parts for you .

wow, how can you turn down goin6633! sounds like he wants to give ya a deal.

anyways, i agree with KBH as well. figure the cost (total cost) you want to spend on it and if it's not worth it, sell it and buy a DSN PAM.

Personally, I would not through any more money at it. You could buy a very nice DSN for what you paid for that $100 rep. If you're not going to wear it anyway due to the tells and dissappointment, then send it back and roll the dice. The pics cannot tell you everything about how moddable this watch is. You may put $250-400 more into it and find you have a much nicer watch you are still not happy with.
Personally, I'd send it back, count it a loss, hope something arrives in it's place, and just start over with a new higher-end 111.
But that's just me.
