After talking with a few of you here I figured out that the problem with the crown & stem had something to do with the keyless works. I figured it would be easy enough to take out the little "Do Not Unscrew" screw and push down the thing on the inside and pull out the crown & stem. I got that far and noticed that the reason that when setting the time felt so catchy and jagged was because the stem itself was slightly but noticeably bent. As I carefully put the stem & crown back into the hole I heard a quite "cracking" or "snapping" noise. I pulled the stem & crown back out and to my amazement, it was half as long as it was before! So obviously I broke part of the stem off inside the movement. I can hear the watch still winding and the second hand is still sweeping. Is this something I can have fixed by a watch maker? Will I have to buy a whole new crown & stem piece or can I get just a new stem and insert it into the crown? Will someone be able to get that little piece of the stem that broke off out of the inside of the watch? I am very mad at myself for even attempting to do something as simple as taking the crown & stem out. If I've ruined this watch by doing that... jeeez. Any help would be appreciated guys, I'm feeling kinda bummed right now cause of this.

You'll need a new stem yes. And you'll have to take the works apart to get that puppy outta there. What movement is it.

I see. There is no way I can do something of that nature. If I had a watch repair person fix it all (take out the stem piece and put a new stem into my existing crown) how much should a repair like that cost?

Need a new stem, remove the movement and push out old stem with a pin or pick.

If you are uncomfortable doing that you could probably get someone to d that work and lume it while you are in there. ;)

If you don't want to send it off and are uncomfortable doing the work, honestly your best bet is to sell it as-is, all of the options will probably cost you the same.

WHAT??? No, I think not. We are talking well under an hours labour here even if the keyless works needs to be be reset plus a 3 dollar part that any 'smith will have on the shelf.

I can take a look if you want. Won't cost you anywhere near 120 GBP ($200). For $200 I would do a full service, but you're not looking for that. PM me if you need help.
