I just ordered my 3rd and 4th automatic Seikos... #3 came in the mail today. I picked up both watches via ebay and paid $109 & $127 for the them. (I have a titanium chrono and a Monster) Stunning looks, perfect size, automatic movements & incredible lume right out of the box. I'll post some pics of my actual watches once the 2nd one arrives.

1st- Sea Urchin (blue). Another member here got this watch, posted pics, and I started looking for it. This is the one that came today (oh, and btw- even non-reps take along time to get here from Japan!) Sharp watch! 100m water, 40mm, automatic. The blue is more muted than it appears in the pic below (and looks better!)

2nd- Professional Divers (200m) Red & blue, 43mm automatic SKX009K2

Yes for the price they are more reliable in accuracy and workmanship than any other expensive brand.

Interesting piece and nice watches. The blue in particular.

One thing, if you are going to reproduce whole slabs of text from elsewhere could you please credit the origen of them and/or author?

It's from a site that sells Seikos. Didn't want to seem like I was endorsing a site when I did not even buy there. Thought it was interesting reading but I'll just delete it.

I wasn't scalding you for posting it, it's simply nice to know from whence things come so a person can guage it's veracity or go there for further reading. Chances are good if it came from a sales site they stole it from somewhere else anyway.

I mention a hundred sites a week, doesn't mean I endorse any of 'em.

As I said above it's simply nice to know from whence things come so a person can guage it's veracity or go there for further reading.
That is all, no policing involved simply a quest for further reading.

I couldn't agree with the OP more. For quality, reliability, durability and value, Seiko is arguably the best watch manufacturer on the planet.
Sadly most people are only familiar with the very low-end models. The nicer ones, like shown here, will stand up to the standards set by similar watches costing thousands of dollars.
Pics don't do these justice - the quality and appearance is much better in person.

I could not agree with you guys more, I love my high end watches but Seiko always has a place in my collection in particular Seiko 5 SNZF17K1 23 Jewels Automatic, what a great watch for the money keeps good time and is very reliable looks amazing in blue mine is black and looks just as nice...the 009 is great and if you don't like the red on the bezel then there is the 007 in black another one of my favourites all in all... nice watches buddy enjoy them :)
