Send a mail to some of the dealers with some pics of the 16600 Comex and ask them. It will have more effect than just browsing their albuns sometimes.

Or, buy 2 watches and build your own Comex 16600 mixing their parts. It would be a cool project to be into =)
Actually, the main thing would be getting a Sea-Dweller and then just putting the Comex dial on it, then you would have to check the other little details, like caseback and such...

Cheers,
Spirit.

Well emailed Ruby about this. I do now know that some low grade reps exist but still no further forward.......

Dealers take from 2 days on, to reply mails...remeber the timezone is different, and the Chinese New Year just happened. So, they might be all on vacation or coming back from it.

I suggest you to wait 1 more week to expect some more work from the dealers, dude.

Cheers,
Spirit.

I have seen this rep but that's a long time ago with poor case (pre SSD v1 case) which is thinner than the actually SD (or in this case, thinner than SSD's case). The font on the dial is nothing to boast off too... Poor replica in comparison to the gen article.

I was in the post off ice sending a watch to fine dd for his treatment .and older gentleman in front of me (late 60s looking ) had a wonderful gen 1665 on his wrist .he is a retired diver and his wife purchased it for him a long time ago ....................... it was simply stunning .im glad I didn't have my mbw 1665 on . I had a blackbird on .he commented on my watch ,but declined to swap /////////////,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,:sam:

pcsam - i have a comex 1665 on order already and it is due in the uk in a few weeks. Is the case of the 1665 just the same as the 16600? i assumed it would be different....

If a 1665 case is the same thats great but then i need so source a SSD dial with the comex logo....that will be the difficult bit.

No they are not the same. You need "glossy" dial rated 1220m for the SSD. The Comex dial on 1665 is matte and rated at 610m.

The only problem to me is to find/source a COMEX dial that´s the right for the 16600.
...Then, there would be the caseback too, that should be COMEX engraved. I´d suggest getting a caseback from another COMEX, but dunno if that would work anyway...

The best start would be to buy a modern SSD v2 and try to source the other parts needed for it. In my humble opinion.
